About the Mack lures ,to confirm that we are talking about the same lure type.. the lure is similar to a Rapala type lure deep diver came in different length 6'' more or less.. painted in different colors anchovy, trout, etc. I don't remember the manufacturer maybe storm lure company haven't seen any on the market for years... the trout color was very good for strippers in the lakes and dams that held strippers like San Luis Reservoir Merced, County California and also on the California coastal Beachs..
Damn That Is A Nice One. I’ve been getting into the spoons lately. I used them last year no lucky. This year one Salmon. Very Tuff to fish in shallow water and Weeds. You Got Me Hook. I’ll find a place less weeds. The Shoals out by Spindrift comes to mind first. Thanks For all The Fishing Advice Alan Fong. I think I’m the shit Until I watch You. You Make Me Smile.
Some places are to weedy for spoons but you can use the flutter spoons in these areas as I did the video on them I was in 3-4 ft water. When stripers are on a feeding frenzy this is the time to throw the flutter spoon. Keep trying as this is the time of year to do it!
Hi Allan, Blade Runners Flutter Spoon comes attached with a swivel, but not the Blade Runner Duh Spoon 3/4oz & 1 3/4oz. Should I added a swivel to the Duh Spoon?
Where can I buy one Sir. I appreciate you releasing those big fish so they can make future stripers as so many take them so all their friends can see the big fish. Great for everyone but the monster striper for it it’s game over. No more laying eggs or fertilizing eggs it’s getting stuffed or thrown in the garbage when it starts stinking
Happy New Year Alan, I purchased the Halo HFHFX76MHCC Cranking Stick from your recommendation for the Blade Runner 13/4 oz Duh Spoon. . Will this rod be great for the 4" Blade Runner Flutter Spoon too?
a fun and fun fishing trip, friends, Smash MONSTER STRIPERS & Big Hit Trigger, thank you for sharing your experience, success and keep up the spirit, hopefully than always bless you
Since this is a prototype, where can these be purchased soon? Thanks for this great video. You're an amazing angler and Denise is so fortunate to participate in your advanced adventures. Take care, stay safe and healthy!
Sherman Lake, Big Break and Liberty Island are the best flooded islands. Liberty has lots old farm equipment, paved road, gate valves and rock piles and I've hit a lot of them in the last fifteen years! BE careful
Yes it was! It was so windy out that day we decided to do it in hogback to have less wind noise. At low tide it gets shallow coming thru the opening lol
So in Liberty for example, are the bigger stripers still active on the bottom half of the outgo and first half of the incoming? Is the fishing usually much better early and late or can a noon high tide fish well?
Stripers in Liberty feed on the higher tides and if in morning it will be better and if high in late afternoon then the evening will be better. But everyday there is a larger tide more water movement and the higher tide is always better. I've had high tide like at 2 pm and around 1 pm the stripers go crazy! Watch tides as it's very important!
Great PB! Now where can we get the flutterspoons? Checked out the website from the link and not quite clear where they are located on the site? Thanks for sharing the info with us.
Hi Alan. I was fishing for strip bass at Hogan Lake. There was a fish boil going on right around my boat. I threw top water , jig, crank bait at it but they were not biting my lure. What do I need to do next time?
OMG that a big fish Denise good job
Last couple years Denise has caught lots of big fish! All species she is a lucky girl! Besting her PB all the time
Great day thank you Alan
once in awhile I'll get into some nice fish lol
Love this!
Alan you’re the greatest
Totally appreciate your instructional videos
I’m going to kick some striker A** this weekend
Good luck! There are lots in our area now
Way To Go Denise, Sweet :D
She getting better all the time a fast learner
I just love the enthusiasm and excitement from Denise on this one such a great fun video
Thanks so much!! She does get excited and she dumped a couple big bass today probably her PB lol
Alan, I rarely see you using live bait for strippers, is it just a preference or your experience have proven that lures works better?
which jaw gripper would you recommend? one with and one without a scale, please.
I use the plastic Rapala gripper with no scale.
Do they make the big Mack lures anymore? Do you remember them..?
Yes Mack lures are still in production like wedding rings, dodgers and spinners

No I don't think Mack's lures make and lures like Rapala anymore just trout lures.
No swivel on spoon as you fish in vertical. Flutter spoons you cast n let fall n rip it n let it fall!
Daaaamn Alan. Frigging monster smasher
Lots time on the water and years of trying things.
Do you use any bucktail jigs for catching stripers like we do in the Northeast?
Yes I do, used to be very popular until the swimbaits came out.
Damn That Is A Nice One.
I’ve been getting into the spoons lately.

This year one Salmon.
Very Tuff to fish in shallow water and Weeds.

The best time of the year is Nov thru March fishing the flooded islands like Sherman Island, Big Break and Liberty

Saw this picture of Dennise with the big striper at the DFG website last week. She is famous now! Very cool...
yes she was on the DFG site and was on the front page fish sniffer and in four issues of the western outdoor news too I've created a monster lol
Apologies for the misspelling Denise!
great video and tip
Glad you liked it!
Oooothatsnice
What type of tides do u think is best for them as well
I like hour before high tide until three hours after when fishing inside the flooded islands
Who is this Denise? Does she have her own vids?
She is my producer and is helping me with my channel. She has a passion to fish and does quite well.
@@AlanFong Oh great. She's definitely into it. I think California Dept of fish and game used her pic on a recent email I received.
Wow, nice fish.
Go shallow to get the big ones as I'm in 2-4 feet of water
Thank you for the great tips Flutter spoons catch giant fish 🐟.
You bet!
Awesome video plus tips Alan, keep them coming :D Which color should I purchase Shad 3.5 or Shiner 3.5?
Shad in 3.5 best

It will be available soon at FW
Is there a shop in the bay area that carries the flutter spoons?
No but I think tackle warehouse has them
Nice job young lady!
Are these available at the warehouse stores yet.
NO not yet but hopefully soon
How do I locate the submerged islands? Is there any places that you won’t mind sharing about? Just trying to catch fish 👍
Sherman Lake, Big Break and Liberty Island are the best flooded islands. Liberty has lots old farm equipment, paved road, gate valves and rock piles and I've hit a lot of them in the last fifteen years! BE careful
A newbie to striper fishing. Would franks track be a good location to Try the flutter spoon.
Absolutely any flooded island like Sherman lake, franks, big break and liberty island on high tide!
Thanks. I just picked up a few spoons in Freeport
Great video ! Do you need to change out to a single hook on the larger spoon?
NO the hook makes the spoon fall correctly
Looks like your intro was at hogback ? My 21 ft sea swirl has bottomed out leaving there on low tide. Liked and subscribed!
Yes it was! It was so windy out that day we decided to do it in hogback to have less wind noise. At low tide it gets shallow coming thru the opening lol
Hi Fong, if you can provide insight the best way to catch striper or fish in general from the shore is a plus.
Right now I wold fish around Walnut Grove to Hood on sac river or up at Verona and use jerk baits like Dual Realis
@@AlanFong thanks

@@norcal_angler5310 Thanks for the info👍
Great information as usual Alan. Like always I'll need to get me a couple to try out.. When will you start carrying them at FW?
Should have them in week or so I hope!
Hi Alan. I was fishing for strip bass at Hogan Lake. There was a fish boil going on right around my boat. I threw top water , jig, crank bait at it but they were not biting my lure. What do I need to do next time?
The stripers in Hogan are getting smarter all the time. You need to downsize in lures size. Small flukes work very good there.
make sure you move the bait fast. I made the mistake for years of not moving fast enough, not now.@@AlanFong
I know who Built that Rod and I also know who rebuilt that Shimao chronarch 100 with an Upgraded Drag! Fich On! Yeeeeeeeee Hoooooo
