Well that map is wrong, the Muslims never ruled all of Spain especially like Basque country or Asturias! Olive trees were brought by the Ancient Romans not the Muslims, I think we are giving wayyy too much credit where it isn't due. Many muslims were skilled artisans no doubt but Spain wasn't backwards like people think! 🤦♀
i used to think like u.. until i went to Spain and lived in the villages.. i saw the water wheels... canals... olive trees ...water wells...etc... i saw many muslim cemeteries even way up north everything resembles Palestine and Syria... Muslim Spain had the most advanced economy for hundreds of years
In reality, no one brought the olive tree, it seems that there are people who think that there were never plants in the Iberian Peninsula. The olive tree is a plant native to the entire Mediterranean and obviously to Spain (like the holm oak, several species of oak, walnut trees, cherry trees, 2 species of fir and 6 species of pine, along with many other trees and plants). The olive tree is a tree that has been selected for human cultivation, but the wild olive tree still exists in Spain today. On the other hand, it is one of the longest-lived trees that exist and even in Mallorca there are olive trees that are estimated to be 3000 years old, long before the arrival of the Romans, apart from the fact that the chronicles of the ancient Greeks already tell us. They say that the Tartessos civilization in southern Andalusia cultivated olive trees and produced oil in the time of Aristotle, well before the Romans arrived in Spain.
@ That’s what you think Simon. But the whole truth some of them started drinking wine 🍷 and watching women dance 💃 and that’s how their leadership fell.
So much misinformation. 1. Araps never invaded Iberia in 711 2. Army of 250.000? Lol. Where did you get this ridiculous number from😂 3. “Constant attacks from arap armies” how do you know they were araps? 4. “Mules were brought by araps from Africa” yeah makes a lot of sense

Obviously they weren't Toledo steel and sword crafting and armor building proves the artisan side.

My grandpa was Mexican with the last name, Medina. I would love to know more about that last name
Medina is the city where prophet Muhammad was born in Arabian desert.
The Muslim army and its leadership lost Al Andalusia because of not following the rules of Islam and they paid the price the leadership.
Nah - they just fought each other for power, adbul.

No caption to explain this story this Muslim and Christian
This is very bad Islamic propaganda. The very claim that the Muslims brought the olive tree is obnoxious. Don't waste your time watching this.
