You were right on the money about Timesplitters having a fish in a mech. Thanks for unlocking that memory, hopefully this doesn't lead to me hunting down my old console + disk, wherever they may be! Also, wow, that model looks awesomely weird!
This is the first time I've heard of No 57 and I will probably pick some of them up. The fish mech, fossil robot and armored frog really tickle my fancy!
They're a lot of fun (if you don't mind the size of the parts). Speaking of the fossil robot, I just got one and the box it came in is substantially larger than the previous models of the series I've bought so far, so that might be a good introductory- type model to check out. Seems it'll be a bit larger parts to deal with. Guess I better go start building it and report back!
My main beef with these chinese companies that release the good model kits, especially those releasing boxes with "limited edition" bonuses is that they never released round 2 of their kits. So as it stands, a ton of these products only got one release and they all got the "limited" bonuses. On the top of my head, only ATK girl series got a few of their kits granted a 2nd round of releases.
Totally agree on the limited quantities out there. I understand (and expect) it with the pricier metal build figures, but with the plastic kits you'd think with most of the labor intensive work being done, it's just a matter of covering the costs of a few more shots of injected plastic at that point. Why not release more?
