8:45 The big bank of switches with signs, etc. looks great, nice work! I'm thinking in a future factory of doing something similar, but also incorporating access to each of those components - so you might go over to the "screws" one, and you can actually open a storage container a pull out screws manually if you need them for something, etc.
(wish there was a smaller storage container lol those things are relatively huge)

tip for placing floor holes with diagonal foundations. Place the floor hole nearby with the correct orientation. push h to for nudge mode and nudge it into the right position.
Yeah. Nudge is awesome, especially with "infinite nudge" mod 👌
this gives me so much to aspire toward, currently playing update7 for the first time, just built my first factory to automate reinforced iron plates, it was huge, 16 constructors 5 assemblers, 3 floors, several coal plants & water extractors, it feels so good, and knowing it's self running with the coal & water systems in place is a good relief and weight of responsibility off my back - no more cutting down forests! next factory is already planned out, 33 constructors, 6 assemblers - this time for rotors.
i have a copper node next to where i spawned / setup my hub, been thinking would it be worthwhile to dump copper products into an awesome sink to unlock content like floor holes etc.?

I wish blueprints worked for me but every time I try to lay one down it doesn’t appear and I lose the items it costed to build. I’m not sure what’s causing the issue. Those buildings look wonderful. I should start building up more.
Sad that blueprints don't work... I guess you tried verifying game files

I'm a bit confused. Why do the belts run into a storage container and then into a splitter that takes overflow into the sink?
Doesn't this mean the containers will always be emptied into the sink as fast as they are filled? So, the containers would always be empty wouldn't they?
Those are smart splitters, only overflow gets dumped into sinks. This way the production line is always max saturated, and resource supply machinery never stops (because dumps all the excess).

May I ask an unrelated question? In Update 7 I enjoy using some well chosen MODS. The MOD Installer says that MODS are not compatible with Update 8. However, it hints to the updating of MODS. Sooo. My question: What mods, if any are available for Update 8? And how are the accessible?

Sadly not a single mod works on Update 8. Other than some experimental/broken stuff on the experimental mod loader. Us mere mortals need to wait until U8 is out of experimental for mods to come back online.
@@approximatelybored Yeah, I was afraid of that. With the developers on vacation for a month were will have to wait even longer! I will continue in Update 7 with my favorite mods. I use about 100 of them!

Having a separate power line per item seems a tad overengineered.
True. And its also bad craftsmanship... 😅 With priority switches could've built a single power line with a switch on each flor and control it from anywhere 😖
@@approximatelybored Was wondering that :D So like, one main "power bus" going up the tower, and each floor would split off that, into a priority switch for that floor?
