Land Rover Discovery 4. Removal of rear wheel bearing races from axle and wheel knuckle.

  • I had a weird repetitive noise when the car was moving. You couldn't really hear it outside with the windows down only faintly inside. It turned out to be one of the rear wheel bearings. So, with the car jacked up and wheel, disk brake caliper and disk removed I followed a couple of videos to strip out the parking brake and remove the wheel hub and bearing races and refit another new wheel bearing.

    Thanks Jimmy. I was wrestling with removing the parking brake from the backing plate and your video helped where others didn't.

      Yes you do. So if you are taking the hub off it is a good idea to replace the backing plate.
