    the japan doesn’t sound scary because we’re used to the blaring harsh alarms, but imagine being stuck in the dark in a small room with that going off constantly and you don’t know why

    • @Illiviestrations
      @Illiviestrations 3 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Haha, never thought of it that way Lol. I live in Japan and that tune always came on during Earthquake Drills at school etc. never thought of it as a ‘you’re gonna die but i guess it’ll be sorta peaceful’ alarm. But I’m guessing it’s like that because (especially for children) high pitched notes are easier to hear during load but low pitched disasters (for example something breaking/falling during an earthquake) it alerts the person that and earthquake is going on. And also it’s slow but repetitive which makes it easier to remember.
      At least that’s my thoughts on it.

Me and my friends are so confused and my teacher then waves us over. (All this windows it the school we're open btw) all of a sudden my teacher starts talk and I couldn't hear her but I heard the words "fire drill" and panicked. We walked down the hill to the front of the school and the fire alamy went super loud. "BEEEP BEEEP BEEEP" (imagine it's in a roboting and rusty voice) I start freaking out and my bf asked me if I'm ok. I say maybe but I won't get any sleep tonight. We had the windows open when it happened but without the windows open it's about 2x quieter from 100000000x. If we're inside the school tho it's like 1000000000000000000000000000000000x worse. Well here in Germany its the fire brigade siren.
      I live 100m next to one.
      Imagine sleeping at 3 am with open windows and getting woken up by this.
      I can indeed confirm that you are almost scared to death. Run as fast as you can to the window and shut it, get headphones, listen to loud music.
      And remember, 3 year olds also hear this. They propably think theyll die.

When I was a kid, my family and I went on a roadtrip and there was a tornado nearby and we heard the alarm play over the radio. That shit was incredibly terrifying as a child and it made me not like the song that was playing before it for a good 5 years or so.

    The Emergency Broadcasting System Alert in the USA is the scariest. It's probably because I heard it in apocalyptic movies, but it really scare the sh&t out of me. The Canadian alert doesn't scare me at all (I found it annoying instead) because it's mostly use in Amber Alert and Curfew during p&ndemic here.
