I didn’t knew Mr. Terre. because he was older than me, but I know his mom from back market at town (Kingston). Miss Winsome was a lovely, hardworking woman. She always have a smile and everyone around her were nice. She was a very respectable woman! My mom and Miss Winsome were friends and colleagues. My mom used to purchase good from her and I had my share of experiences working with my mom at town. And running back and forth to Miss Winsome for sales for my mom, lol! Fun moments. It’s good to see Miss Winsome son as a successor in our land we love, Jamaica! Blessings and love, Mr. Terrelonge and Miss Karrelle.🙏🏾❤️✨

This is such an amazing interview. You see people in positions and you don't know their journey. Thanks Minister Terrelonge for sharing your story. This is an awesome inspiration not only to our young people but also to those of us as adults who never stood up for ourselves earlier..🎉🎉

    Terri-Kharelle,
I have been binge-watching your podcasts; some have left me in tears, some mirrors my life, and some fuel my drive. I recently caught up with Alando at an event in Toronto and he is simply amazing. I'm friends with his sister and extended family, and we connect on that level, but outside of that, he is simply an inspiration. Love what you do, and I'm always in awe🙏🏾‼️

This interview is so powerful. So much gems spilling. It's a struggle to live just because of the colour of your skin, your profession etc.....we need a " Redirection". I can resenate so much with Mr. Terrilonge, I am thinking to change my entire career for some of these reasons...........

Powerful, honest interview with this amazing Jamaican. Clearly a King with integrity, self love and strong believe in his self.
I applaud him and hope his message will reach everyone in Jamaica…a message that will open the eyes and young and old.
    Powerful!

What an excellent excellent interview!! The spanish and the french accents are soo beautiful and sounds sooo perfect. Redirection is a great choice Terry for your new programme. It was inspiring, enlightening, informative and motivational. You are true Kings and Queens of this beautiful island of Jamaica. I love how Alando express the importance of believing in yourself and knowing who you are..I am better off to have watched this podcast/interview. Wishing you all the good the universe has to offer.

I love that Honourable Terrelonge is talking about colourism in Jamaica. It is rampant. I see that people who are managers etc are never of the darker skin. Until that changes everywhere we will never be equal. #changenow

Another great podcast TK ! Loved this episode with Minister Alando Terrelonge. And it was very apropos today as we celebrate our 61st Independence Day!! 🇯🇲🇯🇲✊🏽
Touching on a wide range of topics in a short time, Alando guided us deep into the realities of Blackness, masculinity, racism, colorism, globalization, fatherhood, education, hair, law, Black history and migration which all affect, influence and shape us as a people and culture locally and in the diaspora .
He left left no stone unturned and he illustrated the courage , risk taking and resilience needed to stand up for justice, truth and equity. I walked away reminded, yet again, that the fight for a collective emancipation from mental slavery for my people continues !!

Honestly, this is my first time watching Redirection but when I saw it was Minister Terrelonge I knew I had to watch. I have always admired and respected him as leader, father and advocate . He is probably one of the only politicians that has my utmost respect because he is authentic, grounded and advocates for the issues that matter . He is the only politicians that speak out against violence against women and the injustice when it comes to black hair on our schools. He practices everything he preaches! He speaks truth and affirms us as black people and reminds us of the pride we should have in ourselves. His journey is of true resilience and show the importance of education. Thank you TK for showcasing this amazing leader to the world! 👏🏾👏🏾

I experienced racism in the US the first year being here. I was in Manhattan one morning going to an interview, but was unsure of the directions and just needed confirmation. I saw a white lady and was approaching her while saying good morning and excuse me, and all she did was walk faster and clutch her bag. I was so shocked and in disbelief. Mind you I am a woman, brown skin from Jamaica 🇯🇲. I was so shock. #TKRedirection.

I realized colorism in Jamaica, when I had my very first job in Jamaica at a government health facility. I would notice that high acolor/white individuals treated differently from those darker in color. For example, just how they were spoken to and how the questions were asked would be different from darker color individuals.

Massive cultural and norms and values differences between any European country and any African country that makes immigration and assimilation at scale huge concerns with huge sociological and cultural ramifications. It is dishonest to pretend that an immigration policy like Hungary's, for example, which I support (as a Jamaican), boils down to racism. All people are equal in value and worth as individual human beings; not all cultures are equal, not all value systems are equal, and some are not unequal, just different. I am not a universalist, there is an arrogance in that. I would not like for Ethiopia to become Hungary and I would not like for Hungary to become Ethiopia. I don't need for Japan to make itself like the USA; let Japan and the Japanese remain themselves reflecting what they value, uniquely. I am definitely not a global citizen; I don't need to be able to live in Finland and have the ability to become a Finnish citizen, to be concerned about some general issue affecting Fins. Every continent upon the face of the earth has seen native empires founded by the more powerful or the more " strategically threatened", over others, with all that this has entailed across millennia.
