  • Showing a different way of installing this sling. Based on a few ref.pics of US Navy SEALS from the early 90s and USMC SRT operators from 2000 and up.
If there is someone who can confirm this, would be great-please comment. if you know a better way- please let us know in the comments.
    Thank you for watching!

Spent 11 years in Marine Force Recon, 80s and 90s, we attached it a few ways but I used the method you are talking about. Keep in mind ours were the MP5N, Navy model. We made the front attachment clip fit under the rear attachment point by filing down the back of the rivet on the clip, making that bump flat then you can rock the clip through at an angle and attach it to the front.

Hi! Thank you so much for the confirmation and for the additional info. Means so much! :D Yes, The MP5-N, I was making this video before i have converted my MP5A5 into the MP5-N. I have made videos about the conversion. Is there a way I could get in touch with You? I'd like to ask you about a vertical foregrip i have seen attached to the MP5-N used by Marine Force Recon. I'd like to send you a picture, maybe you can tell what it is. Picture is from the early 90s. Let me know. Much appreciated! Thank you!

I love this variation! Don't know if it works, but I'll give it a try.

OK, it doesn't work with an A2 stock. The webbing doesn't slide through the built-in slot freely, which is necessary to switch sling configurations. (NOTE: 1-inch webbing fits through this slot just fine; if you're mounting the static END of a sling to an A2 stock, it'll work great.)
Also, the J-hook clip sling loop (the part you removed) works so well on the A2 stock that there may not be a reason to try to improve it.
ONWARD! I want to try it on my B&T folder.

Get my mp5 22LR by HK here in England in a few weeks, got an original used Hk sling for it already, will fit it how you have so i can use sling tension with the stock collapsed, thanks for the video

I wish the clip had a final shot of the entire sling in place, instead of rolled up.

No. There's a u-type clip that attaches to the rear bar on the rear stock. The front has a loop and the self closing clamp goes there.
Do not disassemble the sling. Just attach the 2 points and slip your head and arm through the large opening and adjust slack. Easy peazy.
Same sling works on all legacy hk.

Sorry, you are missing the point. The way you have explained it is the regular way. This video is about the "different" way that was done by US Navy SEALS and other units...please watch the complete video...

The U-clip doesn't attach to the rear bar. The U-clip attaches to the bent shaped buckle and transforms the sling from a 2 point sling into a 3 point sling.
The sliding buckle automatically adjusts to the shooter's preference / the shooter moving or transitioning while allowing for quick adjustments.
