Some context and DC Comics-history to those not familiar with *_Khalid Nassour_* (Doctor Fate VIII)... 1. *_Doctors Across Decades_** ~* While Doctor Fate dates back to *1940,* with Dr. Kent Nelson (Doctor Fate I), comics-Nassour is a more recent addition to the Fate-legacy, debuting in *2015.* 2. *Tangential Descendant ~* Nassour is a descendant of Dr. Kent Nelson (Doctor Fate I) and Inza Cramer(-Nelson) (Doctor Fate III), on Inza's side of the family. Nassour is on the order of Dr. Nelson's great-grand-nephew on the familial tree. 3. *Unity ~* For a time, Nassour would enjoy a greater bond with Nabu than previous Fate-hosts, with Nabu being able perceive the world though Nassour without needing the Helmet of Fate to be worn, and speak to Nassour in-mind; very similar to how YJ-Jamie Reyes (Blue Beetle III) interacts with his Scarab (which is actually less of a surprise since Nassour and Reyes are of the same comics-generation). So Nabu would be able to experience more of modern-day Life through/with Nassour, rather than the brief moments of Nabu's host wielding/wearing the Helmet of Fate. Comics-wise, it was Nabu that would mentor and teach comics-Nassour magic, opposed to YJ-Zatanna teaching YJ-Nassour. 4. *Division ~* Sadly, such positive times would not last. Nabu would betray the bond and trust of comics-Nassour in order to pursue his (Nabu's) own agenda(s). Nabu would expel Nassour's mind and soul from their shared body, sealing Nassour's essence into a canopic jar (an Egyptian burial urn) to prevent any internal contestment of the (Nassour's) body. Worse, Nabu was initially able to fool most others of both the Mystic and Super-Heroic communities because of the previous shared bond with Nassour (impersonating Khalid). 5. *(Re-)Balanced ~* Inevitably, Nabu's treachery would be discovered, Nassour would be found and freed, and Nabu re-sealed in the Helmet of Fate once more. As of 2020, Nassour operates as Doctor Fate (VIII) once more, with a (mostly) repentant Nabu; and with Nabu once again restricted to only being active when the Helmet of Fate is worn. However, as additional punishment in being resealed, Nassour has the ability/option to override &/or shut down Nabu from within the Helmet of Fate, even without needing to have the Helmet taken off. So now it is a thematic _Role-Reversal,_ in that Nabu having be the 'reasonable' one in negotiating a _Balance_ with his (Nabu's) host. Whether this will be reflected in YJ-cartoon, we will see.
