- The Beautiful South performing a cover of the Oasis song "Some Might Say".
This performance was taken from the 02-08-1995 episode of MTV's Most Wanted, hosted by Ray Cokes. I always loved watching this show, great fun.
A studio version of this song would have been great on their 2004 cover album "Golddiggas, Headnodders and Pholk Songs"
there was a reason for this cover. They did an extra night supporting REM after Oasis pulled out, so it was a consolation prize to cheer up the Oasis fans there
The only consolation prize I got for Oasis not trapping was my Beautiful South "NORTHERN SCUM" t-shirt!
REM and oasis never been on the best of terms.
I was there for that REM show, at Huddersfield.
Those first two minutes felt like a week.
yeah and is like those videos you see when a dog grabs someones phone and runs with it as the owners chase em around. Paul Heaton is always worth it though.

It was so of it's time, perhaps hasn't aged well. For a brief period it was the 2nd most watched show in Europe after Baywatch. 😂

I used to love Ray Cokes and Most Wanted.
The show was very of it's time. I believe after Baywatch it was the 2nd most watched show in Europe. I used to love it back in the day...... I've seen things that have have aged better mind. 😂

I love the Beautiful South but this cover is horrible. Oasis cannot be imitated or covered by other bands because Noel and Liam are so unique.

@@bordercollie1140 The long nails are on his left hand. From photos I've seen, he plays guitar right handed i.e. his "picking" hand is his right hand. The long nails are unlikely to be for playing guitar. If anything, it would impede the ability to play.
In any event, the nails look far too long for finger picking.

I am a massive Beautiful South fan but this is one of the worst covers of an Oasis song i have ever heard. They have'nt even made it sound like a Beautiful South song ffs. Terrible 😂
