Just sharing, I'm 68 years of age and I started trade school summer of 2024. My 1st class is commercial electric. Yes, I have concerns about my lack of flexibility. I am working to improve it. Presently, I have a Handyman business in which I do some electrical work. In the pasted, I installed a few ceiling fans. Now, I've been exposed to more and my skills have improved, so I'm able to do more. I do practice at home. Thank you for what you do.
Love this real talk, im going to be 35 soon. I'm finishing my ET School, about to transition to an HVAC course. I have a family, and the paycut isn't an option. Luckily, I work in a place where they want to promote within. Everything you're saying, I had to consider. I'm in that situation where I'm blessed to move up. Your channel has helped me so much with my schooling, putting me ahead of the class among many other electricians and HVAC channels. Thank you, sir!
I started working out when I was 32 and am glad I did. One leg day at the gym makes a day of going up and down stairs at work with your tools WAY easier. Going to the gym gives you a better attitude for the physical parts of our work, you want to tackle the heavy lifting to feel the gains you've made in the gym.
I have had extensive experience in electronics and electrical engineering, but now I am 75 years of age. I know what I am doing but I think I am too old to become and apprentice electrician. Yes age is a number but there does come a point where your physical fitness holds you back. I have done recently solar off grid installs under supervision . I don't have many regrets, but I wished I had done an electrical apprenticeship about say 30 years ago.
Did you begin working for yourself right after you got your Electrical license? or did you stay with a company for a few years, achieve your masters, then go out on your own?
