I saw Lakeside in Santa Maria, CA back in 1986. I approached their bus after the concert and they had a shot of tequilla with me, no joke. Funkiest band in the Land.

There's been a change & multiple 'Lakeside ' bands over the years. Personally, the lead singer gives the band that original sound. You can find good musicians to duplicate the music, but the vocals are much more challenging. There's only one Mr. Woods..

I don't know. I've seen videos of Mark Wood's Lakeside band. You're right, the voice is irreplaceable. But there's a huge difference between the musicians in his band and the original Lakeside musicians. The bottom line is I wish they'd settle their differences and perform together before it's too late. They're better together.

RIVERSIDE GEORGIA...That's My Peeps ORIGINAL LAKESIDE BAND Man I heard that guitar riff and just Went Off I must've did about 10 Different Dances SOMETHING ABOUT THAT WOMAN Live..that was the same Concert where I met The Notorious Legendary Leader of The DRAMATICS L J REYNOLDS He was arguing with this Nerd over a T-Shirt...Then ORIGINAL LAKESIDE Walked up I asked Who play guitar on that Song and MARK Replied Him..I said Wow can I shake his hand He said sure and I Shook his hand said I'm eJ I Love that Song..Then We All just looked at L J and Shook Our Heads in Disbelief.They were Really Naturally Cool Guys Each Member had 2 Ladies One on Each Arm and they were All tall and Looked like Models No Groupies For ORIGINAL LAKESIDE...I Really wanted to ask can I join the Band but My Girl was standing right there listening to everything I say.Love&Peace luv ya byo eJ

Mark A.Wood, is the owner of the Lakeside™ trademark and sound who is the lead singer on all (9) studio and live albums. The lead singer with this band sounds horrible.

Mark woods voice is a gift and it's also anointed. He should do a gospel album and call it Godpel my way.
The lead singer of this band (called The Original Lakeside) is not Mark Woods, but they really hit it with this cat because he really does sound almost identical to him. Mark has a different band, which I believe it's called simply Lakeside.

Mark came from a Christian family.
the riff between original lead-singer and the original Lakeside members initiated when Woods referred to the other members as “his band”.
naturally that didn’t sit well with the other members, and they split and asked former falsetto Otis Stokes, who had left earlier, to rejoin the band.
Woods went out and got his “own band”, which allegedly what he wanted.

Lakeside paid their dues . All the members are great musicians and are homegrown funkfrom Dayton Ohio. I watched them struggle to become #1 . Roots From Roosevelt High School in Dayton to international fame ! We love ❤️ and Respect their Fortitude and commitment
