Tim, thank you for organizing an exceptional group of knowledgeable and sophisticated collectors to explore one of the most esteemed luxury watch brands in the industry.
Am I having hallucinations or th captions on the T is showing a Remontoir d'egalite not working porperly? Because at same time the tourbillon seems to work just fine (Around 12min, not the close caption)
Nothing against the watches, I have never had the pleasure but I’m sure they are stunning watches. Here is my issue, when the 1916 watch company buys up all the supply then pushes a ton of content drumming up demand, the whole thing feels a touch artificial and somewhat disingenuous. Don’t get me wrong, it’s genius but not something I personally aspire to be part of. And can someone please buy that man some appropriate socks.
Elegance is relative and not all tastes are equal. People probably hate things you like as well. That’s why it’s nice to have independents out there to offer choice.
Unlike other luxury watch brands that may feel soulless, F.P. Journe excels with its unparalleled creativity, artistry, and exceptional customer service, both pre- and post-purchase.
I love their designs. When I think “great marketing hype” I immediately think of Rolex. Mass-produced, non-complicated watches commanding $10K+ is a joke.
OMG corporate America dress code, blue check jackets and horrible trousers! By the way Journe watch’s are over priced hype…. Sorry couldn’t hold a candle to any Patek
Is it only me, or we just have a couple of people(rich), who wanna keep the hype up? I'm sure if for whatever reason the brand would loose the inexplicable value, they would be the first to sell. Journe would be nothing if not for the hype created by Govberg! Yes, i one a Journe (CS), but is nothing spectacular....
Come on, watchbox does a lot of really good videos about it. They got a lot of those pieces, it’s normal but It’s not difficoult to find a lot of watch experts and enthousiasts all over the world speaking wonderful words about the brand. Auction results are really good too..
To be a Journe collector the first thing you need is a blue suit jacket.
A hideous one for that matter. And pair it with a wide, dark grey pants and adidas sport socks 🤯 What was this guy thinking?
The old man with the vibrant blue jacket wearing short adidas socks has me dying
$3 dollar socks, $300k watches 😅
A fantastic video, from a collectors perspective, well done!
Tim, thank you for organizing an exceptional group of knowledgeable and sophisticated collectors to explore one of the most esteemed luxury watch brands in the industry.
watching this conversation for the fifth time. genuine enthusiasm for wonderful watches.
Fantastic roundtable gentlemen.
Great balanced conversation!
Fantastic brand 💯
The only Roundtable with a square table lol
Dress code "shirt and Blue checker jacket". Uncanny.
i still can't get over the stamped dials and average finished movements.
all the blue blazers, no tie...yikes
Yep - this is the look of the watch colony meet up at WTNY
20:40 i expect mark to say GOOOOAAALLLLL!!!!!!!!!!!
Brilliant exchange!
I've been enamored since 1999. I should have found a way to get one
The oldest bald coot in the room would certainly make an excellent curator of the upcoming Journe museum. 😂
Anyone have a transcript of the FP Journe dinner that caused half of the collectors in attendance to dump their whole collections?
Secondary market value hasn’t gone down so there wasn’t a massive dump. Stop getting your information from influencers bro

yes
Could be that it wasnt wound up fully, not sure what was going on.
@@HRM.H thought about. But the power reserve says otherwise
Journes are unreliable. A brand focussed on aesthetics with a liberal sprinkling of Watchbox hype.
Im a student in china and fp journe is like sacred here just joined a finance job here last year and my boss called my royal oak hollow cute 😂
Yes !
Looks like FP Journe is appealing among bald rich men in their 50s or 60s.
To each their own. Let them keep the FPJs, while the rappers and footballers get the APs.
I'm 54, rich but not bald and I collect them. No better watches
@@joehughes3764 no doubt about that... those watches are beautiful. Congrats for being rich and hairy.
I can’t with the adidas black socks showing the guys leg. I mean come on!!! Get some over the calf socks dude
Journe hates resellers so this video is quite ironic
his biggest buyer is watch box now them
what happened at that dinner beloveds
Strange that this brand keeps getting such extended air time and conversations. I keep hearing that the movements are not that reliable.
Maybe because they hold the biggest inventory
Some prefer artisanal watchmaking and innovative design language. I suppose you’d prefer to talk about Oyster cases and bezel color changes?
@@salemdxb this isnt spoken about enough
@@990v6they made a good bet. Can’t begrudge them for promoting it.

if i have ever seen an attempt at exercising monopoly power...

I don't wanna be in that room.
34:21 That‘s impossible because the concept of a trust doesn’t exist under Swiss law.
Swiss law recognises foreign trusts though, since Journe himself is French, maybe thats whats going on
Like stock brokers talking their own book. So biased!
Can you do a review of 500 $ watch collectors ? Their love for watches is the same as FPJ collectors.
outside of the 750 gold movement theyre not aesthetically pleasing.
Exclusivity without elegance is nothing. FP designs are just terrible, especially the ones that look like chocolate chip cookie.

@@lansvale28 With Journe collectors in this video wearing mismatched clothes, I can see why you say "not all tastes are equal".
@ haha agreed
G'day
It's all the same person WTF
I am a collector and I don’t see the appeal for FPJ. It is a great marketing hype.

Why would rich people care about keeping the value up of something so insignificant to their wealth? You are thinking like a poor person.
It must be a little bizarre to have 200k on the wrist, is everyone a multimillionaire?
In that room yes.
