- EPISODE 3: ‘RHYMING SLANG’
Like the mother tongue itself, the Brits invented Rhyming Slang, the Australians have turned it into an art form. From Barry Crocker (shocker) to Germaine Greer (beer). Introduction of ‘Chopper’ the talking cockie.
I am an 82 yr old Aussie and this just broke me up! Love it!
kenn greenberg have you seen part one?🤣🤣🤣
I don't bereave you.
ur are 85 now 😂
@@thelogicless9040 I am 86 now.
@@kenngreenberg184 you have no idea how happy it made me to scroll down and read that you’re 86 now, hope you’re still crackin the Barbie regularly young man!
My dad is 83 and he actually uses rhyming slang and wonders why no-one under 79 can understand him!
😂😂😂😂
That’s gold😂😂
HOW is this not more popular? This is the most hilarious thing I've EVER SEEN.
@Martyn Watson its more racist against the Indians than it is against the aussies lol and i as an Indian have no problem with it.
Kat totally agree with you.
"I'm as dry as a nun's nasty". I am crying here...
Steve Dreyer what does that mean mate?
Santosh Kumar It means he wants a beer and we actually say "I'm dry as nuns cunt" because nuns don't get any action down there.
epic beardface thank fuck someone here knows how to explain it...not that it is used that much and trying to get people to understand Aussie slang by watching shit like this is depressing.
Just watching it is so far past normal conversation.
Tried asking for a dogs eye and blood lately?
Barry Gattenhoff
..c'mon, loosen up mate, they are just taking the piss, there are still a lot of true blues out there that understand all this
@@EnlightenedCharvak In New Zealand we don't have that one but we have a similar one: "'As tight as a nun's cunt" or "tighter than a nun's cunt", meaning something really tight.
This is comedy gold. I once had to train Indians in a call centre about 'Australianisms'. Hilarity ensued.
Any aussie who finds this offending needs to lighten up! This is fuckin' gold!
Bro I’m an Aussie and this is bloody amazing!
ok lightening up now like a Tibetan monk
😂😂😂😂
I don't think many Australians would find this offensive, seeing as it IS an Australian production... I think you'd HAVE to be Australian to appreciate it fully.
What are you talking about? Not a single comment indicates any offence taken.
"She bangs like a dunny door in the wind." LOOOOOOOOOL
its a cyclone
HAHA I'm dead on this one too :D :D
What does that even mean!
she's sexually active. bangs as much as an outhouse (dunny) door in a storm
Orcs R Kewl
It means she goes hard in the sack..
"Why is it called Chopper?"
"it has no ears... I don't even know what that means"
nearly pissed meself laughing.
Google Mark "chopper" Read. He was a small time gang criminal in Australia through the 70's and 80's who became part of pop culture. He got his nickname after getting a reputation for chopping off ears and toes and the like of some of his criminal victims. Larger than life and quite a character by all accounts but you wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of him. A nasty SOB I'm sure.
Me too ! Uncle chop chop with his missing ears
Hahaha, that was the best!
@@robinhodgkinson Chopper chopped his own ears off.
@@jefftheaussie2225 you’re right! Not sure where I picked that up from. Probably TH-cam! Wikipedia has a good page on him. What a sick sad sob he was.
This series is great. We need more Indian Comedians in Australia.
Praise you guys for this, im 53, and if i use it, my kids just stare at me, R.I.P Aussie slang 😢😢
Dead right.... Few years back I was explaining to someone how to get to the warehouse I work on mobile phone, I said if you pass KFC, you've gone too far and you need to do a U-turn..... Silence.... What.... Do a U-turn.... Silence....do you mean chuck a "Yu-wee"....ah yes, do a U-turn.....silence...dude did you go to a private grammar school, I didn't understand what doing a U-turn means.... Wtf!!!!
I have a friend who teaches many Indians in adult English classes. We both laughed till we hurled! These are brilliant satire pieces that work on many levels. They poke fun at the monoculture Australia had in the past, the stereotypes of the police, the ignorant foreigner in Australia, the bogan in contemporary Australia, as well as being an homage to the individual language that has developed in this country at the bottom if the globe. These pieces are an utterly must watch set for all us English teachers!
@@esltogo6898 Yes, actually a lot are. And many come from multiple other cultures that added their own distinctiveness to Australian culture in its formative years.
This whole channel is comedy gold! They should do one about Australian public holidays.
Benedict Eris Carey Ther did, it is brillaint. I have seen all 8 episodes now -- absolutre comedy gold
These are the best videos ever. There are a lot of comments saying there are people complaining, I couldn't find one comment whinging about it.. only loving it
There were quite a few negative comments when it was first posted. Most of them didn't get the joke and took offence. A lot of people replied to these comments pointing out there stupidity. I think the owner of the stupid comment have come to realize how stupid they are and deleted.
Who wrote this series? It's genius!
Hilarious, I am Australian and this is how I see some Australians too. My eyes are filled with tears, thanks for making my morning :)
What do you think about Indians..?
What is dalai lama travel and strive means
@@rag5075
Dalai Lama = drama
Trouble and strife = wife
As an Australian, I am proud to announce that I have had a Ford Cortina (with the 6 cylinder engine no less) and it did catch on fire. :D
(I was playing with the engine wiring loom and shorted something out, after repairs, the car lived a long life)
TERRAOperative Thanks for the explanation mate. I was wondering what the reference was and didn't get it...
farken lol
Fuckin oath
Legend
I just about cacked myself watching this! What a dream team of writers and actors! Just gets better and better
Hahaha I love it, but unfortunately rhyming slang is virtually extinct in Oz now; largely superseded by Americanisms among the young. This must have been made by older Aussies - good on yer guys. Let's call it an historical document. Want to see more of Chopper the cocky, he is a legend.
Don't change yourselves, you guys are unique.
Where you live maybe? Here in QLD is hear this all day long. Hooroo.
An old age of creative swearing is going and a new one is coming in dont worry fuck knuckles not much of a change
Bring back rhyming slang!
My cousin and his mates use it. They are late 20's
Shoe-polishing the thongs had me crying.
That's for formal occasions like posh dinner parties and court appearances
why?
Absolutely hilarious. Spot on observations, extreme as they are. Hope it becomes part of the curriculum...there and here!
one of his wives..emphasis on the plural. this made me chuckle.
I'm in tears with laughter. The subtle jokes are the best. No ears, chopper my goodness
This shit is so funny in crying lol
Septic Tank = Yank = American fuckiing LOLOLOL hahahahahahaha
we call them seppos now lol
Ty Bundy-supple Exactly. I was thinking the same thing at that bit:
"It's 'Seppos' you idiot!"
yeah well thats how rhyming slang works. you remove the rhyming word.
Always bin called Seppos cause they invented the Septic Tank and, like their invention, they're always dribbling shit.
Blind Scarab Nope, that's not the reason: Seppo
Holy crap, I lost it when he said "it doesn't have any ears".
the subtle jokes are the best part!
OMG I was crying! So funny!
Yep spat coffee over the kybrd, still loling when i think about it.
_I lost it when he said "it doesn't have any ears"._
Me too. I'd love to know if any non-Aussies got that joke. ;)
God Emperor Lionel Lauer none, you have to know Mark 'chopper' Read
People are too sensitive. I love this and I'm Australian.
I Like Australia as a country...Laidback,less population, relatively a new country,A grade country..climate also not a problem...not sharing any borders with other countries..!! i haveheard aussies being friendly....!!
Animesh Naik agreed with everything but the last one ...uhmm...hahahaha
No they are friendly.. obviously they will keep little distance with people from other country....but All are not arrogant..!!...looking at their talking and nature..they are easy going than other whites..!!
Ryan is revolting
From America and I think this is hilarious. I love all things Aussie and know that this is not an insult to them at all. I would love to see them do this american style. These guys are hilarious
American style? You mean school shooting. Or white supremacy
No one wants to see that
These are just so funny. You guys are fantastic.
I am Aussie, as were my parents and grand parents.
I am honoured to be part of a culture that can look at this and laugh until I nearly wet myself.
Feel sorry for those who cannot do the same.
Semi-Retired Foamer
Hope you noticed that the whole series is actually making fun of Indians trying to learn Australian slang. Hope you noticed the background music, too.
What is Danny Trejo doing in the Dean's office?
Oi was thinking the saym thing choina plate lmfao!!!
Arvin S Anolin why the fuck you putting a accent in your comment?
Your biggest fan an*
Cor blimey you'd be bricking it if you had to go to him for a telling off.
Absolutely brilliant, watching from Australia while wetting a line and drowning some worms.
This is the best!!! As an Australian, I denounce anyone who says this is offensive.
How have I only found these now?...there are fantastic
I'm an Australian and this is brilliant.
Tears rolling down my face from laughter. Too much reality.
this should be made into a mini series... this is truly great!!!
hahaha I have just discovered this through a reaction channel, and being a Spanish "Jimmy Grant" (as in episode 1 the slang for "immigrant") living in Aussiland for 4 years now, can still say it is so relatable and I can't stop laughing and watching episode after episode! No wonder I was not getting anything of the slang on "me" first months here :D
This is funny as. Learn to laugh at yourself. These guys actually get Australian humour.
Its so funny, Ive watched it before and still so funny second time around.
Outstanding humour. The whole series is very cleverly written. Kudos to the writers and actors.
"It means... I can't tell you" 😂😂😂
Most amusing , I intend to watch all the episodes.
all these actors are amazing!!
I never had so much laugh before on TH-cam ever. I want this series on amazon or netflix.
I grew up with dog's eye (pie) and noah's ark (shark). Up here in Queensland the expression is 'dunny door in a cyclone'.
This is absolute class comedy!
This show is awesome.
My old dad used to say things like "pass the dead horse (tomato sauce). I need some for my dog's eye" (pie - meat pie that is) and many many more. I still say lets hit the frog and toad (road) to my kids and it still cracks them up.
They're making fun of themselves at the same time. Relax folks
You Shit on brain mate!! You dumbarse ;) Bingoo
I just scrolled through about a hundred comments and haven't seen anyone complaining. What are you on about?
@@wce05308 you should've been here before 3 years

As an Aussie, I'm pretty sure I've never used rhyming slang or heard many others using it either. It's kinda weird. But I can't get enough of this series! Haven't stopped laughing!
My eyes are watering!!!🇦🇺🇦🇺🦘🦘🦘
Thank you for making these videos from an Australian. Hopefully these videos will educate you fellas in the callcentres on how to make yourselves easy to understand. Cheers.
I'm born in Aus to two Indian parents - this is comedy gold people, just brilliant!!!
You look Australian
I'm a white Australian male, I fucking love this series haha! Nailed it :)
Only if you lived in Australia you would get the "chopper" reference....this is brilliant:)
I lmaoed at the obvious ear reference.. Not australian, love Mark !
Wowser,... :P
What's that.. Poofter I mean
Live in New Zealand and got it.
I can never go to Australia now, I will probably have a stroke hearing an ozzie speak, after dry as a nun's nasty. 😂😂
He must be fair dinkum, he has a sports steering wheel on his Ute!
'Bangs like a dunny door' - that’s the polite version !
this is going to get unbelievably popular

Addictive viewing. Love the actors.
This is one of the funniest things I've ever watched, my wife and I had to turn it off after episode three because our ribs hurt we'll watch the rest later, hilarious!
"She bangs like a dunny door in a cyclone!!" LOL
Though I ran out of comedy shows but fell on your channell! One word AMAZING. Please dont stop you guys will get so popular soon
1:44 "Cheese and kisses means missus, so it refers to one of his wives" Cracked me up, lmfao

These actors are so good. Dead pan.
Guys, are there bloopers for this? I would love to see it, I think it would be hilarious
Smashing out these episodes !! U guys crack me up ay !!
Love this. Great stuff and makes me proud to be an Aussie.
Hahah guys lighten up. I thought we were supposed to have a sense of humour. This is hilarious!
Oh my god hilarious! I nearly wet my pants I laughed so much. Well done and excellent prop work.
For crying out loud people, this is not an educational video. This is a satirical comedy series clearly based on an exaggerated image of what Australians are known for. Apparently satire goes over the head of a surprisingly large number of Australians. Hell, they're taking the piss out of the things we Australians constantly brag about - our creative language, our love of meat etc. It's also written and produced by Australians, just FYI. Ironically, most of the people crying out "racist" would probably be perfectly fine with it if all the actors were white Australians making fun of Australians, but the Indian actors with their Indian accents clearly rattle a few casually (or full time) racist cages.
I am an Aussie and I really enjoy these they are absolutely hilarious! Also I have mad fun doing the Indian accent, my Indian name is Ramash
Love the copper's name tag - "Don Castor" - referencing the suburb of Doncaster in Melbourne.
AUSSIE GOLD!!! Bloody well done 👍
top notch production, quality humor... brilliantly executed. thumbs up.
i love your show. it's fantastic
Rob & Tony - you bloody beauties! I love these. Now to share with all my seppo mates.
Anyone else hear Chopper call them Mexicans? hahaha
Yeah I dunno if it was a racist thing (dark skin = mexican) or a regional thing (Vic’s and NSW are Mexicans because they are south of the boarder)
Guys - I just love these; thank heavens we can laugh at ourselves. You have done a great job taking the piss out of us. Thank you for celebrating our humour. Pete
Fuckin' oath, This is the Ducks nuts of all internet videos!
did she just say "billy lids" instead of "kids"? hahahahahahahahahahahaha!!!! I'm Australian and I find that hilarious!
Andrew Semple some other slang is tin lids as well... this is a fantasic series. And only Australians will get the cocky named Choppa
Or 'tin lids' - Jimmy Barnes formed a singing group from his kids called 'The Tin Lids'.
as an american i find this very funny. as an american that play a lot of video games with people from austrailia i can tell you that they also find this very funny. great work you guys. keep it up.
Question is, do you actually pick up on and understand all of the references?
It's funny cos it confused stereo types. Unashamed, This is refreshing genius
Absolutely loving this series - seriously, you have to approach the TV networks - this would be a hit
There are heaps of these I've never even heard before! and I'm an Aussie.Great stuff guys
Hahaha I've never heard 'she bangs like a dunny door in the wind' before, that's gold! Non-Aussies probably wouldn't get it :D

Funny stuff, loved the old holden wagon. Knocking off the neighbors gate for the barby killed me.
This series is classic. Not sure why I am only find this now.
Love this, best one yet. My dad speaks this way all the time, got some interesting looks when we were in Europe, I had to keep translating.
Even though he was in another country he continued to talk in a way he knew others wouldn't understand?
Well what can I say... we deserved this one & all the rest of them. What a pisser!! At least we can laugh at ourselves & cop it on the chin. These vids are so funny I nearly spat my false teeth out.
