Calm atmosphere in the Borneo rainforest

- It's been a long day of monkeying around in the Borneo rainforest. There is food aplenty but there are also predators and pesky people. The mud and decaying vegetation makes it difficult to keep a coat of fur clean, especially a bright red one. Nothing is too difficult for Remy the Red leaf monkey though. He swings through the canopy with incredible ease and grace. When the afternoon rain arrives, he takes a quick moment to breathe, closes his eyes and listens to the beautiful soundscape he's immersed in. Life is good.
I met Remy and his friends in Borneo while exploring the rainforest there. The soundscapes I recorded there are some of my absolute favourite, both for their staggering diversity and their immersive beauty. The constant fog drip, the never-ending insect chorus, the incredible variety of bird, frog and mammal calls are fascinating. There are also more intangible things, like the gentle swells of activity happening every now and then, or the beautifully layered acoustics created by the rolling forested hills.
Sit back, close your eyes and imagine you're Remy on a brief break from his monkey life. Listen to birdsong bounce around the forest floor. Soon enough the occasional raindrops turn into a little storm that subsides and then returns.

@@TheAVsChannel Hey there, I know it's weird, but being in a state of boredom I apparently happened to stalk your channel a bit and came to the assumption that you're interested in making electronic music on the computer. If my assumption was right then could you please give me some kind of very brief introduction into the topic? Because that's something I want to try once as well but I have literally no idea how to start / which programs to use etc. but would love to try it out. Please?

Das ist ein sehr schönes Einführungsvideo (einer der besten YT Kanäle zum Thema Musik Produktion btw) zu Ableton. Ableton benutze ich schon lang als DAW (Digital Audio Workstation), damit kannst du sowohl im Programm Tracks bauen, als auch externe Hardware (z.B Synthesizer) über Midi ansteuern (Noten senden) und vieles mehr. Ich würde dir allerdings für lange Zeit erstmal dazu raten ohne Hardware zu arbeiten, da dies die ein- oder andere Komplikation mit sich bringt (Latenzen z.B) und bevor du durch solche Probleme frustriert aufhörst/pausierst, würde ich dir erstmal dazu raten die Grundfunktionen einer DAW (ich empfehle Ableton) zu lernen, sowie die Grundlagen von subtraktiver Synthese und Filtern (Lowpass, Highpass, Resonanz, Cutoff usw.), damit kannst du schon mal einiges an Plugin Synths ausprobieren. Zum Einstieg würde ich dir sonst noch ein Midi Keyboard empfehlen, dass du mit Ableton nutzt.

Das würde ich dir empfehlen, kannst du auch erstmal über USB nutzen (ist am Anfang sinnvoller). Im Lieferumfang vom Arturia Minilab ist auch direkt Ableton Live Lite dabei, also eine abgespeckte Version von Ableton, mit der du erstmal einsteigen kannst. Damit kannst du auch Parameter von Ableton auf die einzelnen Knobs zuweisen (Ableton hat zu dem Thema auch YT Tutorials auf dem Firmenkanal). Denk sonst immer dran, dass jede Anschaffung in Kontext von Musik Produktion immer Zeit beansprucht, um die Möglichkeiten vom neuen Gerät schrittweise mehr zu nutzen.

Unabhängig davon würde ich mir an deiner Stelle Leute in deiner Stadt suchen (Facebook Gruppen, Ableton User Group...), die auch gerade anfangen oder schon etwas erfahrener sind, damit man neu gewonnenes Wissen direkt teilt und sich gegenseitig Fragen stellt. Facebook Gruppen sind auch cool, um Fragen zu stellen, falls du wirklich mal nicht weiterkommst (falls google nicht hilft). Jeder Anfänger hat andere Felder, in der er/sie sich vertieft, im Kontext Musikproduktion, deshalb kann gemeinsam wirklich deutlich schneller Lösungsansätze zu Problemen finden oder zusammen Tracks bauen/lernen etc. Vergiss auch nicht ein Ad-Blocker auf allen Geräten zu nutzen, sonst guckst du dir zu viel Zeug zu neuem Musik Equipment an und machst weniger Musik mit dem Equipment was du hast. Neue Geräte kannst du dir natürlich trotzdem gerne anschaffen, versteh mich nicht falsch., aber google am besten vorher nach Anwendungsproblemen (Bewertungen sind natürlich auch meistens hilfreich) und nicht nach dem Bestellen. Falls neues Equipment irgendwie nicht funktioniert oder Probleme macht, kannst du immer bei Thomann anrufen und im Zweifel 30 Tage noch deine Bestellung zurückschicken und hast 3 Jahre Garantie auf jedes Gerät.
