I'm not a Psychologist but , I'd say Chad is suffering from some sort of N.P.D. ( Narcissistic Personality Disorder ). He has a high sense of self importance , thrives on attention , is condescending toward Jolene and , negates viewer's advice calling them Hater's .
I've been a subscriber to this Channel for year's but , these last few month's the content has went down hill rapidly . In the 2 month's or so , what have you actually finished on the Ford , chop the screen and build the side skirt's ?? What happened to the day's when you could do a build in 30 day's ?? . If I were you Chad , I'd take a 2 week break , just you and Jolene , no videoing , no visit's to Custom shop's , away somewhere nice and sunny and , have some quality time alone with your beautiful partner ., you both do need it because , you both do work hard . Take care Chad and , let's have the old creative metal worker back and , just admit some job's are out of your depth .

A good way to ensure you have both pieces of material lined up, is by putting several dowels spaced out across the bottom piece and lay the piece you’re attaching it on the dowels. Get the piece lined up and start removing the dowels from one end. It takes the frustration out of it. You could probably find a video on applying laminate surfaces online.

She's probably never done these type of projects before and is a bit nervous to how it comes out. Not only is she filming for the show she is helping in the shop, she's helping with the design of things and has to edit and put the video put for us to see. With all that and to work side by side with your partner sometimes isn't easy. And there is gonna be issues along the way. They are human after all. So let's act like it. Give these 2 tons of credit for putting content out everyday and still build cars all the while not editing the whole show. They show what other shows won't show you. Guarantee others have failed, messed up along the way.

Some material is going to run one way and the other is going to be running 90 degrees away. Going to be interesting to watch. Material patterns are very important to keep straight or it shows. Wood dowls would assist with applying the fabric. Put a series of dowls down on the fabric then lay the aluminum. Slowly press the aluminum and fabric together as you remove the dowls. The dowls allow you to line everything up but won't stick until you remove the dowls. It is a laminate application technique. Best regards 👍👍👍👍👍Looks outstanding.

Sew the top material in 3 pieces, or staple it to the top and use a staple strip to hide the staples.

Gluing the headliner to the rigid aluminum skin is a good idea for leaving the bows exposed since you can end up with sag due to humidity and heat over time. Although it might have been better to go with 22 ga. sheet metal since it wont bend and crease as easily and has some rebound before bending . 22 ga. is thin enough to still tack or power staple to the wood . Just a thought .

To reverse your process put the material on aluminum. Also you need to make sure the pattern matches otherwise they will be mismatched. You should use a wide roller too and you can work the as you apply it thus avoiding wrinkles as you go. Me personally i would have wrapped a 1/2 to an inch as well. Its not gonna do anything to the top. Hey your way may work too, time will tell.
