    You are one of the best when it comes to editing and creating outdoor adventures. Always enjoy it. And you are not a self centered blogger always talking about his life. Good job.

      Thanks! I don't want to make videos which are just about me, and in mountain adventures that's exactly what mountains are good at, showing your insignificance on the grand scale

      It's owned by UBC varsity outdoor club and open for the public to use. They recommend posting your planned trip on their forum to avoid conflicts with other groups, but there's no booking, it's first come first serve

    Brilliant channel! Mesmerizing shots. Would you mind sharing how you do the night sky shots? The approach to Meager has sure changed since the early 90's when there was drive-in access. I don't think I'll be returning any time soon.

    • @lifeofluke
      @lifeofluke  4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Bill! I set up a long exposure time lapse to capture the night sky shots, of course using a tripod

    • @teacherbk
      @teacherbk 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lifeofluke Thanks for the quick reply. There is some zoom/tilt camera motion apparent in the timelapse shots. Are they done in post or are you using a slider of some sort? Have you considered making a video on your cinematic techniques? Thanks again for an outstanding channel that lets me relive some of the trips I did in my youth and many that I will never have a chance to experience.

    • @lifeofluke
      @lifeofluke  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@teacherbk the panning and tilting in the time lapses is done digitally. Photos are always taller than the video frame size so there's extra image on top or bottom that makes sense to be used that way.
      I have considered a video about my techniques, one of the major problems is I only have one camera and therefore wouldn't be able to record myself using my camera... I hear what you mean and could do one about technique in the future.

    Wow! Awesome videos Luke!!! I've just watched about 8 of them in a row! Really nice footage & in such a humble way too! Nina is such a great & capable companion for you. How old is she? I'd guess 2-3 years?? Love your beautiful tiny house too - you're dead right in that you don't need much to be happy - in all reality, just food in your stomach, shelter & to be warm!!!
    Such beautiful scenery way up there in the North.
    From an old, hope to be again, hiker ( tramper as we say way down under in the deep southern hemisphere!)
    Keep up the excellent adventures & videos.
    From Andrew, way way down in N.Z. ( New Zealand)!!!
    Subscribed for sure!

    Leave the dog at home. Dogs kill hotsprings.

    • @lifeofluke
      @lifeofluke  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      That doesn't make sense. So by that same logic dogs also kill lakes, ponds, rivers, streams and any other bodies of water or just hot springs? How?

    • @jarastafaria3088
      @jarastafaria3088 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@lifeofluke they shit and piss everywhere and bacteria doesn't stop growing because hotsprings are perfect temperatures and humidity. When hotsprings get to popular eventually they get shut down because people bring dogs. People start getting sick they figure out every one is getting sick from the dog freindly hotspring. And your dogs shit and piss isn't good for lakes and streams ether its just that eventually it drop below freezing for a length of time and kill the bacteria.

    • @jarastafaria3088
      @jarastafaria3088 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Its why you can't always use the public mud springs at haison sometimes. Every once and a while it becomes a bio hazard. Its why they have to chlorinate the main spring at the hotel. Its also why when someone thats actually an outdoors enthusiasts finds a hot springs or builds one out they generally try and keep it a secret.. they don't make youtube videos showing people how to get to their secret spot and destroy it. They are vary ecosensitive places u don't bring dogs.
