You should put a headache rack on it to protect the rear window a little bit.

I like the idea of wood railing using the stake pockets to protect the bed rails, maybe color match raptor lining from body line down.

Ahhh man... Josh... Once again the common sense of the wife.. She makes sense. Don't bed line it ! She made sense. Sooo a suggestion.. a set of stake bed wood panels and a headache rack. The panels provide protection to the outside of the bed and the headache rack to the cab and window. Two options as for color... one vinyl tape... and or vinyl wrap... OR... call your brother and his friend to the rescue and let them assist in the painting. It's a great excuse for a holiday family gathering. I like the wheel and tire combination it works with it... eventually you can go to a taller tire if desired. But they work with it. The frame color change is a huge improvement. In time consider some bed supports/stiffneners. So you don't tweak it. Fastest wood hauler on the road.
The WIFEMAX is going to be a great truck. It's getting there... supply issues are what they are unfortunately.

Josh love you videos but the one thing I have to say is that your wife is correct about no bed liner! My reason for that is it’s going to peel because it didn’t look as though you prepped the bed with a “bed brush” it’s a sanding process they should have sold you with that Raptor kit!!! Very inexpensive too!
Just a matter of taste. I'm with Mrs TM, no way to the bed linner. Bed linner is for beds, not fenders. Of course, I'm 66, when I grew up, black wheels were for work trucks (cheap company work trucks) . I guess that's why I like chrome, not murdered out black. But, it's your truck, just hate to see you do that to a nice truck, that you worked so hard on.
I love the Dodge the way it is like your wife said it is going to be a truck. Master disaster don’t do it.
Let’s see a video of the Cummins racing the lbz, and race the wifemax when it’s done. Also don’t bed line the whole truck

Leave it alone. The blue looks good and is easy to touch up if needed.
The dumpster Cummins looks way better with the black frame than the red will it still still be blue or changing colors

What my son said what he used to do is build woodenbracks and put them in the holes on top of the bed and build it going right around feel like a big s And then you can load it as high as you want and you don't have to worry about it falling over the sides or nothing or metal racks on the side build something where wood looks nice and just load it up you can load it up with whatever you want and you don't have to worry about it if you want to take it to it show you pop them racks off Or you leave him on
That’s why bodyliner is the best of both worlds. Smooth and shiny but protective!
Leave it one solid color. But I’m all for raptor lining the whole truck. It is a work truck after all. You still need a headache rack, with your bull in a China shop work ethic. Back glass is in Great peril with every chunk of wood thrown in the bed.😎

Put side boards on it so you don’t ding up your truck.
Maybe build some slip in rails to sit on top of the bed for when you have to pile some wood that high to keep it from hitting the top of the bed. Just a thought.

Ok. Gun metal grey on the bottom up to the bottom body line and thats it. It will protect against rock chips etc. Leave the rest of it blue. The paint looks to be in good shape. Love your channel!
Brother! The Cummins looks amazing now with the black frame & bed liner. Plus those wheels look like they’re meant to be on it! It looks like a solid work horse truck now. I’m diggin’ this setup much more than how it was.

Just make a rack, it will cover the bed rails and have a headache rack for the cab.

Word of advice, headache rack. Don't risk blowing the rear window out tossing wood or in case of a piece rolling into it. It's not fun. I've done it.
Leave it blue…don’t bed line the whole truck.
Put a headache rack on it with some sides that’ll keep wood from rolling over the sides. The liner looks good and protects the bed good. But if you put a 3/16 or 1/4 4x8 sheet of steel on top just so it’ll protect the bed floor from further dents and will slide out easy on the steel sheet.
You gotta get to the place to pick up the wood as quick as possible!
Don’t do it. I have seen the Bed-liner paint jobs go horribly wrong. I think it looks good the way it is

That Rustoleum High Performance Enamel is fantastic spray paint. I repainted the metal frames of my workbenches with the darker red color and they turned out great to match my tool boxes.
Angle iron around the sides of the bed with a headache rack in the front to protect the rear window.
This couple is a class act!

One colour ,don't confuse the look ,maybe the next truck build could be a 4 x 4 wood truck ,standard but built stock motor ,not so obvious lift or not so wide wheels ,make a practical truck

It's so bad to let the batteries run down dead like that. Grab a 30-50w solar panel, a cheap $10-20 10A-40A pwm charge controller set to charge at 14.6v and float at 13.5v Put a power port plug on to plug controller into a full time Hot outlet. Then lay panel on dash and plug into controller. Will keep your batteries topped off with no power cords.
My 2018 Ram is granite crystal metallic two with the black my old 2014 Ram was true blue pearlcoat like black at night
If you are gonna haul wood with this ol girl you might wanna consider a headache rack before you break that back window. Some diamond plate bed rail caps may be a good idea as well…

Josh, pull the pickup bed off and make you a flat bed. With more cross members for support. Weld the side up like the sides like your trailer has two install 2x10's on the sides to keep the wod in the floor secure. Then is gives an option for you to change beds should you ever need to.

I've Raptor lined 3 trucks now, 2 black and one white, and have seen several in my neck of the woods. Here's my opinion:
I'd keep the paint if it's good and Raptor the bed rails, Raptor the whole truck if/when it's in need of paint - you're really not gonna want to go thru the work of going back. IMO blue and red colors turn out more of an ugly pastel, you could clear coat but my off-white Ram is the only color I've liked with clear.
The Clearcoat on my 99 7.3 is faded pretty bad im thinking about raptor lining it either white or black .

Do a military looking green bed line and then make a video of a home made headache rack to protect the back window
If you do two colors just do gray on the lower 1’ or so at the body molding and blue from there up
Put some old school wooden rails on the bed sides of the 2nd get paint em white it’ll look good and function good for the sides
Absolutely do not bedline that truck. No matter what you do if you load the bed the way you did in this video nothing is going to keep you from beating the truck up.
Side bed rails and headache rack will protect around the top of bed and back glass🤙maybe won’t need to bedline paint anymore?

The dodge looks much better ,what you can do and is what I did is went over the bed side top a little with the bed liner helps protect the top and looks good to and it will cover up that big chip
Since you asked, not a big fan of bed lined vehicles, except the bed and the rails. Black diamond plate rails would also work well. Enjoy the blue, it's a beautiful color. And the bed needs another several coats of bed liner. One wood dump and the bed liner is already showing damage. I've had much better luck with Herculiner. Lastly, as usual your wife is correct. No offense, she just has better design taste than you, haha. She was correct about the wheels for her truck and she's correct about the paint on this truck.
Hey man. I think grey would like good . Two tone looks great on older model like you have. You can put grey in the middle, or grey at the bottom without going over the fender body, or grey and dark crazy design body paint.
Put your money and video time into reinforcing the dump box and fabricating some nice upper box guards that you can easily take off if you want take it to the track

She does have a point 🤷♂️. 1) the paint shine versus the dull undercoat - they are two different textures - mixing maybe hard to rock the look. This is more of a preference. I think you should wrestle like kids in the front yard - winner gets to choose👍
She seems to like the glossy shine….. she also seems to be thinking of future projects for the channel 🤔. If you paint with the undercoat, I imagine that’s going to take a small miracle to remove. Print a sketch of the trucks profile go get some markers and see what it looks like 🤷♂️.

Blue looks bad if I’m being honest, do Bedliner in Toyota Cement or the dodge cement they use on the SUV’s

Leave it alone. It finally doesn’t look awful that the red frame is gone. Do some extra raptor on top of the bed sides. Then do blue raptor on the bottom few inches for stone chips

Recommend adding the black raptor liner to the top of the bed rails. I agree with Mel on bedliner on the whole truck, not a fan. Good Lookin work on all the projects tho 👌

did the bed line to my 98 k1500 and completely regretted it had it redone but luckily i went with the matte rhino line because thats the only type you can really get taken of me personally i would stay away from the bed line she is right
DO NOT BED LINE IT, listen to your wife on this one, she is right. I would not two tone it either just leave it a solid color, the blue looks great on this truck.
I like the 2 tone idea. But not the raptor line, I did my bottom half of my truck raptor liner and now a year later I hate it and I think it looks hideous but it’s such a pain to get rid of

How do you like the wood boiler over conventional… is paying for the wood cheaper than conventional methods?
Wood is way cheaper since I get it for free
Get a “show” bed and a work bed. You would just have to change it but only whenever you wanna take it to a show😂
Or just raptor line the truck😂
