- First Gen 12v Dually Build Begins! I needed to start digging into this one while i waited for some parts! This is going to be one incredible journey to bring this back to BETTER than assembly line quality...Im building this and keeping it forever! Fully Built motor custom paint and lots of fun are instore for this guy!

As much as I love the new Rams and the way they look, there’s just just something special about the first gen Rams. If I see one a year still on the road, I’m lucky. Most are in the junk yard for parts or sitting in a field somewhere rusting away. Good luck with this build. I look forward to watching this build !
A guys house i used to pass by all the time had a driveway full of those first gens. The back said ram charger. Sweet trucks i always wanted to stop by and see if he would sell one..
Please do like a deep metallic blue on this truck, like a really dark blue. Cobalt blue over black candy type of paint so it’s super deep. That would be so sick on this truck.

I'd love to see the red interior stay with some custom touches,it gives it that classic feel and since your doing dually take the mirrors off red one and put on the silver one

Those mirrors that bolt into the door on the red one are terrible. Less is more, the silver ones mirrors are clean. He isnt going to use this as a work horse so the giant mirrors would be useless and not look as good
a leather seat, dash, and door panels would be badass🤙and please lift it and possibly manual trans swap

Np205 29 spline dodge transfer case for a manual is passenger side drop and transmission to transfer case go to advance adapters depending on what you want to go with. a getrag came with and np205 is what it came with from from stock

I'm building a 1st gen myself if you pull the dash be extremely careful that 30yr old plastic is really fragile I haven't taken the dash full out

I had a 98 ram from down south, I know it’s not a 1st gen, but all bolts came out so easy, and the exhaust manifold bolts came out with a ratchet no heating up or impact down south trucks are so nice to work on! Keep up the good work Ryan!

I have a ramcharger so most are 1st gen parts but It might as well be impossible to find parts for this damn thing especially interior and if you do find parts it ain't cheap

Far from stock store. sells a air ride kit, That will bolt up 3rd gen axles
You know it for future reference if you take that extension off of your impact you get a little bit more torque just a tip keep up the great videos
Needed to go through the frame rails on some bolts just didn’t switch it out!

I’m going to start a build soon on my 57 International S-130 and when I pulled the cab and front clip off the frame I only broke 1 bolt and that was just pulling the driver door off. Everything else came off with a ratchet. They really don’t make stuff like that anymore. That truck also sat in the woods for almost if not longer than 50 years

I have an 84 w250 and let me tell ya it’s insane trying to find some of these parts . But it just makes it so much more enjoyable the further you get on the build! Can’t wait to see what you do !

Ryan if you don't mind me putting some input in if you did get one with a transfer case drop on the driver side instead of the passenger could you not cut the plug welds loose in the center section and switch the axle tubes

Always loved the first gen rams looking for one myself, would really love to see 4th gen leather seats in a first gen if that’s even possible. But keep up the work!
They will fit with custom seat brackets. Knee room is tight on single cabs though.

So ik this doesn’t really go with dodge at all but im curious on what you think the best engine upgrades for a 7.3 would be.
Compound vga's when there's two VGA turbos feeding each other there is no other sound like that and it gives you the best of both worlds it can take you out and race on the weekend and all sit on the on Wednesday and cruise all day there's a way you can get it to work because I did it before it's really cool when it's working right
You’d have to have two small turbos, VGT turbos don’t get big at all, it would essentially be pointless, if anything do a small VGT into a big turbo, perfect setup that way

i’d like to see a one piece valve cover on the 12 valve!
The “one piece” valve cover for 12vs aren’t really a one piece, it’s like if you lined the covers up and slapped a piece of metal over it and welded it, plus then new fuel lines are needed
