It’s always interesting to see my former colleagues boarding you in your videos lol. I know who that was (won’t name her) but during my time at Swissport I boarded a few flights with her
Rotterdam airport is lovely indeed, just the right size, and those insane viewing options! But if you like the way you just walk to the plane without busses there, you should also try Eindhoven airport(also Dutch). They have the same setup, you also walk from the terminal to the planes through gated walkways. It's a bit bigger than Rotterdam, but not much. It is mainly Ryanair and Wizz from there.
Great video Dom. I’d love to see a review on the Hainan Beijing route from EDI . You could do a transit without visa through to Japan or Korea. Some good deals to be had .
Loved all the viewing decks at Rotterdam airport, but that was one of the longest walks from gate to the planes I’ve seen! I’ve been in airports where they put you on a bus for half that distance 😂
Both looked pretty good, I guess for me it would be whichever is cheaper on the route I wanted to do. Although the currywurst on Eurowings did look pretty nice!
Interesting video, thanks for sharing 😊 Would be cool to see a review video of Widerøe flight from Aberdeen to Bergen (my hometown). And compare it to Loganair from Bergen to Edinburgh 😊
I first flew with Transavia in the early seventies of the last century, from Amsterdam Schiphol Airport to Alicante Spain, for a holiday in Benidorm, with my parents, grandfather and brothers and sister. We flew on a Caravelle plane. At that time dictator Franco was still in power in Spain and a holiday by plane was not common back then. We Dutch pronounce Transavia not in the English way, but the Dutch way, the first two a’s are pronounced as ah, just like the English pronounce the last a. The French pronounce it almost the same as the Dutch.
Wow, the Caravelle! I flew to Spain (I think in 1976, the first post-Franco year) with their (the) B.707, noisy too. That aircraft later became part of the Nato NAEWF force at Geilenkirchen.
Both airlines have v similar offerings so for me it would come down the scheduling . HV are starting 2 offload their 738's for new airbus A320's . HV also fly out of Eindhoven NL . Christy 🇮🇪/🇵🇹 👍
Indeed. With budget airlines it's all about the price and the route network. I mean some people complain about Ryanair but this carrier succeeds because of its extensive network across UK, mainland Europe, former East Europe and Scandinavia. People forget that Ryanair is not an airline simply flying to/from the UK and Ireland.
I am a little confused, Transavia biggest base is Amsterdam Sciphol so many flights from there but you did not mention? The currydog looks good but I bet it stinks the plane out. Nice video. 😁
Dom - the master of finding good airline coffee. I must be really unlucky but just about every coffee I've ever had on a plane has tasted like dishwater! ... agree that it's time for EDI to start again with a brand new terminal.
Just bought you a coffee by joining Patreon. Hope you Enjoy it. 😊 I really enjoyed this video, Dom. Loved the view of the three bridges 😊 I’ve never been to Cologne, but it’s somewhere I’d be interested in going sometime. Thanks again.
the viewing decks at tokyo haneda is quite nice and i least i have never been to an airport without them. p.s. i have flown both and honestly i prefer eurowings. just do not like flying in boeing 737's. but on the other hand klm & airfrance are better than lufthansa. lufthansa is quite bad since covid ...
I would be happy to take either airline Dom. Both offer a solid product although I agree that EW's EDI-CGN flight was delayed. Yes airlines do like to 'drip feed' bad news ... it's been that way for many decades.
Thank you for this video, as always very well made! You've gotten a few rarities on both legs as your Eurowings 737 seems to be leased from Smartwings (I don't think Eurowings own any 737s) and the return HV 737 still spotted the old livery. The French branch of Transavia also operates bases in Lyon, Nantes and Montpellier.
Yeah, er, major difference you didn't comment on, is on Eurowings you didn't need to walk 5 km to board the aircraft. Lufthansa Group leverage on gates here?
This specific Transavia 737 (PH-XRY) has unfortunately been scrapped. It is currently being dismantled at twente airport. You will have been on one of the last flights. Transavia is switching completely to Airbus. I have never flown with Eurowings myself. Transavia is a good company, only very unreliable in the summer holidays due to many cancellations.
Hi Dom, great video. Just one thing can you say your height in the video because, although you may think the legroom is good for you , it may nit be for someone taller. Perhaps you could give the actual seat pitch specifications and compare it with other airlines. Keep up the good work

Thanks. Really enjoy the low cost comparison videos. And the airport notes are useful as well. I do like a good viewing gallery
Transavia on time, Eurowings one hour late so I’d go Transavia. Good video and you are always so positive.

There are a few airports on Mainland Europe with viewing decks. Off the top of my head, Amsterdam, Geneva, Malta, and Zürich
Munich and Hamburg as well as Budapest.
Eindhoven airport has it as well
Thanks For A Great Video And Info

I have flown both airlines and was happy. Based on your video, Eurowings had the edge on the food. Thanks for a great series.
I have tried Transavia but I am waiting to try Eurowings.
Both looked pretty good, I guess for me it would be whichever is cheaper on the route I wanted to do. Although the currywurst on Eurowings did look pretty nice!
EDI was jammed packed earlier in the year when I returned back to EWR on United
I've flown Transavia a number of times, but always from Schiphol Amsterdam 🙂
Interesting video, thanks for sharing 😊 Would be cool to see a review video of Widerøe flight from Aberdeen to Bergen (my hometown). And compare it to Loganair from Bergen to Edinburgh 😊
Can you compare ryanair and wizzair
Living near Gatwick it's refreshing to see other lccs as its WIZZ or easy down here..

The Transavia route now being cancelled, I believe Eindhoven is also a base
What a pity. LCCs tend to 'move capacity around' so Dom ought to get LCC flight reviews posted as soon as possible (before any route changes).
Transavia is operating from more bases in NL. Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Eindhoven

Transavia has more flights from Amsterdam than from Rotterdam. So not just Rotterdam and Paris as bases.

Score draw for me, I'd happily fly either.

Are you a coffee monster? Hahaha🤣
Dom another great video love watching your videos also compare emirates and Qatar airways for your next video idea

Have to be honest the first flight looked a little cramped (even worse than our electric Stagecoach buses in Inverness)..
