      Agree they probably would have looked better tucked farther in or maybe not ,other than that this car looks great I'm actually looking at one right now with 20k on clock and asking price of $4k I haven't got it yet but hoping I do.

      It would have been much better looking if it was integrated in the bumper like modern cars

    Well, my buick lesabre was uninspectable this year so I bought a 2006 towncar today. Love it! 105,000 miles and was owned by an older Ford mechanic. It is a cream puff and I absolutely feel like it is something I drove back in the 80's. Heavy and solid like my old delta 88. Even shutting the doors sounds like a good old metal American car. Off to the tinter tomorrow. By the way, the part of the back seat center console you called an ashtray is actually for putting a small pack of tissues! Good job on the edit, stay cool from western NY!

    Had one, would have kept it if an elderly driver would not had confused the brake petal with the gas and rammed right into me as I was parked....had 350,thousand miles and was running like new. Incredible cars....extra spacious..

    Lincoln Town Car has always been my favorite. Since the time I saw it, I set my eyes on it. Sad that Ford decided to end the production of all panther platform cars, but perhaps the changing preferences of the American car buyers is the main culprit, which might have led to lowering sales, thus prompting the company to take such a drastic decision.

    GREAT well spoken commentary, loved the meticulous detail you went to, the scenery with the water fountains and camera work, and that you showed what the car is like to actually expect while driving. One of if not the best car review i have ever seen

    These are 100% BETTER than a stretch limo. Stretches are tacky. (They're OK for some kid's prom or a bachelor party, I guess, but not "serious" luxury transport.) This is close to what the old Cadillac Series 75 was. A ride for REAL MONEY. Even though I'm a GM guy, This car is CLASS. Even at 14 years old, It STILL looks like "MONEY"💵💵💵 👍😊👍

    The executive trims are essentially base/fleet spec. Signature and designer in 07 were the higher trims, then Designer trim was gone for 08+ the Signature Limited and Signature L were top trim following

    The motor in the mk VIII was the 4v cobra engine, not the 2v in this. Also the little compartment in the back armrest is for a purse size tissue pack, the ashtrays are in the doors in the back.

    Back in Past this type of Executive “L” Towncar was tailor made to be “Bullet Proof” & then sold overseas.
    The metal was manufactured thicker then most other cars.
    Something that “Bonnie & Clyde” used to look for in cars with extra thick metal & horsepower combined.
    Bullets would ricochet off the car ..
    Law enforcement learned to use the
    M1918 Browning Automatic Rifle instead ..
    That was the end of “Bonnie & Clyde” ..

    • @Luna_AlmondSF
      @Luna_AlmondSF 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Does it still have bullet proof metal in the 2007 executive L's?

  • @jamesslick4790
    @jamesslick4790 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    If gas mileage is your biggest concern, Get a Yaris, LOL. People who used these didn't even THINK about mileage. OTOH, "Panthers" are so cheap to get parts for AND you CAN do most (if EVER needed) repairs yourself, The low cost of maintaining a Town Car might offset the higher gas cost anyway!

    Excellent video! -- QUESTION -- You seem to know these cars. Is there an easy software upgrade that would boost the power? I doubt I would want to, but has anyone swaped it with the 5.0 V8 from Ford and would it mate to the transmission? Is that possible or could you swap out the 5.0 and the ten speed transmission and hook them up keeping the rest of the car? Assume that someone simply loved this car design and wanted to upgrade the HP and transmission??
