LOL, "taking it easy" is still more crazy that I've ever gotten with a helicopter. So awesome to see someone so young in the hobby and also incredibly talented at it. I have recently started watching your videos. I've been in the hobby for many many years...starting at about age 14. I always wanted to get into it sooner but never had the money. Thanks for your video and keep growing your passion and sharing your experiences in your videos! Good work buddy!
@@JonsRC Very cool, I also play RealFlilght 9.5S but I’m a fixed wing guy….I’ve had a couple micro Blade models throughout the years but let’s just say they didn’t last too long….I’ll stick to airplanes and drones :)
Awesome video, excellent maiden and flying and it’s great to see the both of you enjoying the hobby like you do! I’m putting one of these together myself and I’m also taking my time. It’s my first Heli build and I’m only starting to learn to fly these things. Thank you for this video I really enjoyed it. Your video is giving me a lot of push forward!
Place your thumb on the anti-rotation, where the pin of the swash meets the frame to avoid the heli from rotating when you are holding it or when you are carrying it.
Align makes a great kit, they have been around for a long long time. But if you want the best and hands down easiest build and manual go SAB! You won’t be disappointed. The 500X is also a great model. Also I would highly recommend not using a servo tester to center your servos or move them unless you can set servo HZ and frequency. You can damage your servos not having it sit properly. Great build!
Thanks! We are definitely looking into the Kraken 580 because of the awesome build video you made! The Horizon Smart checker does allow you to choose the frequency of the servo. We chose the T-Rex because my dad was comfortable with Align. But, SAB is definitely on our wishlist!
@@JonsRC the Kraken is a great model! Align has been around forever and they make good models but once you build a SAB you won’t go back lol I still love my Align models but SAB is killing it with there new designs! That’s good to know on the smart checker! I’ll check them out! I run Torq servos and they make a really cool program box that allows you to actually change the center point of the servo and makes it so you don’t need any sub trim in the FBL.
SAB has great models but I personally like the way the 470L flies over the Goblin 380 a Lot. It also costs a lot less to repair after a crash. Having said that I would like to try a Kraken, they look awesome.
Your progression has been amazing!!! Doing more than I can and I’ve been doing this a very long time lol Just shows what time and support can give some one! I wish I had the time to fly more and get better but it’s not the case at the moment 😊 well done you though
I would hate to pay that much and crash it. Would stop flying RC forever....Been following you since the beginning and you sure have turned into a pro flyer. That main blade is so thick and wide looks like the copter could do some heavy lifting. Like how things are belt driven. Learning about transmitters and receivers in kit form is what taught me a lot about them back in the day for Ham radio. Jon you have a wonderful Dad.
Thank you! I know you have been a subscriber from my early days! I still love RC planes but right now I’ve been bit by the heli bug and I just love learning new RC heli maneuvers! I have crashed more times than I care to admit off video. I get depressed every single time! My dad and I spend the week fixing it and I fly it again the following week!
that's why I stopped flying 3D helicopters all together. The expense of and the installation of the parts there's a little too stressful! I do, however, would fly scale helicopters. They are slightly more user friendly to the experience pilot. 😁👍
We also looked at the 480 when we were deciding which 500 class to go with. But at the time, about a month ago, the 480 Super Combo was on back order from Horizon. We didn’t want to wait so we went with Align.

Very nice flying. I am always jealous how fast you young guys pick this up. You will be flying hardcore 3D in no time.

Believe me, if it were up to me, we would already have a SAB! But, my dad is “old-school” and swears by Align!

Wait a minute. Is this Whittier Narrows AMA field? I flew there almost everyday from 2007 to 2013. Nice flying.
Yes it is! Thank you!
@@JonsRC I think i know your dad, if he flew helis. He will remember me, i always used a step ladder. Can u still get into park free with AMA card.

I need to get mine out again..It's been a few months! Been lost in airplane world lately. 😂
I’ve been lost in RC helis lately as you can probably guess from my previous videos! 😀
@@JonsRC That I can! It makes me wanna pull out my 450x 700x trex 500x and my Kraken 580!

Using the Spektrum flight controller does it have a safe function?
Yes! The 6250HX flybarless controller supports SAFE technology!
Hi I have the 6250 in my Trex 470 but feels a little sluggish wat can I do to crisp it up thx mark.
