Make no mistake! Citizen is definitely flexing their muscles - really going after Tissot, Seiko, including their Presage and Grand Seiko line with Frederick Constant.
Disagree strongly. Utterly useless feature in the modern day, ruins the dial symmetry and the bubble is woeful. Japanese manufacturers are insistent on adding a date to everything, ruins so many otherwise great watches IMO.
@@MPD90 Maybe not useful for you, but having a date on your watch is much more useful in your day to day life than you think. Most daily watches people consider as dailies have dates.
I bought 2 already , green and tiffany . Very happy with the watches specially the tiffany the colour is very refreshing .still room for improvement for the clasp and the crown
What a nice concise and, at the same time, comprehensive review! The presentation, delivery, and features you emphasize are right on point. Keep up the awesome reviews!
Citizen Tsuyosa Watches, you have an exceptional for beauty and artistry. Keep sharing and may your love for watches continue to grow!" Can't wait to have it on my wrist soon. I have my personal favorite🥰love the blue.
To me it looks like a decent watch overall, but I can't get past the incongruence of the angular lugs into a rounded-link style bracelet. I think it would've looked a bit better with an angular-link bracelet to match the case lugs. I also think Citizen could've done something a little bit different by placing the date cyclops inside the crystal, instead of on top of the crystal.
I like the look a lot, but I really wish they would have gone with a 9000 series Miyota movement instead. They really aren't that much more expensive, and they could have shaved a mm or two off the thickness. Just a thought. Great vid as always, Bruce!
@@alanhumphrey4198 sold because I had 3 integrated bracelet watches and I sold them all to buy another one and keep only that and I'm really happy with my choice. But this yellow dial is super fun
I think u hit the nail on the head with this one... This is def my fav release for the $500ish category... With that saod at this price you cant expect everything to be crazy hi quality like everything you get what u pay for..but great watch for its price range.
I have several Citizen Eco models which I have had excellent service from. With an automatic, do you hear/notice sound from the movement? Would like to know before I order one for ny Citizen collection..😊
I tried a bunch of these on at Chicago Windup and was really impressed. Yes, the clasp is pressed, but that's not something I notice on wrist. The bracelet is very comfortable and the clasp not hard to close (take note microbrands at the same show I won't name). It looks great on wrist, and yes it's not overly big. In fact, I enjoyed it so much I tried all the colors on other than black. For reference, I have around a 7 inch wrist. Would I love to see 100m WR and a 9000 series movement? Sure, but I'd also want a milled clasp at that point and then we're talking a $600+ watch that's now in Tissot PRX Powermatic territory. I think this is a brilliant move. As for the PRX, I know it may be a tough sell with Tissot after they came out with Powermatics galore in 40 and 35mm, but I'd love to see a 37.5-38mm PRX Powermatic. I can wear the 40, but a touch smaller would be brilliant.
I hope they are just testing the waters with this one,and figuring out if they can lock horns with Tissot. Maybe that's why they've released it with an average bracelet, pressed clasp and an 8 series movement - to keep the price below even the PRX quartz model. In order for Citizen to produce a truly definitive integrated bracelet watch in the relatively affordable price range (and dethrone the PRX), they would need to release another version at 37 or 38mm (which is a sweet-spot size that Tissot doesn't offer), bring out the 9 series Miyota, and either bring their bracelet a-game or release the whole thing in super-titanium (it would probably have to be either one or the other since it would make zero sense for the watch to be more expensive than the PRX auto).
Great value for the specs on this watch, have got the black and ice blue colour models. The bracelet is one of the strongest points on the watch, very comfortable and stylish. Much better looking watch than the PRX imo😊
I have a 7.25 inch wrist. The Tissot PRX40 overhangs the wrist and the PRX35 is way to small, but this Citizen sits perfectly on my wrist. If Citizen would make a version with a quartz EcoDrive movement, I would buy different colors.
i got the light blue but i love that yellow, is there another brand's watch that comes with that yellow face that you guys recommend? or should i just get two citizen watches
Bruce, great video. Was considering going with the nb1050 given the 100m wr, JDM made in Japan, better 9011 movement. However, I prefer the aesthetics of this watch much more. Do you know where they assemble these watches? I know the 8210 movement is made in Japan but not sure where Citizen makes or assembles these. I have a Rolex op39 in white but I love the look of this watch and want a splash of color. Thanks!
got me the green and mean one. pretty solid budget watch especially since citizen's automatic line has somewhat been relegated to the backburner by their ecodrive models.
I have the two tone steel/rose gold version. Really nice look but the movement and crown operation is terrible. Wish they would have released it with a better movement.
How solid do people find the bracelet feel on these? I know we can’t expect Rolex level quality at these prices but i can’t try one on anywhere and don’t want to buy something really flimsy
I love my Citizen watch collection. I appreciate you reviewing the Tsuyosa. The one question I have since I haven’t tried one on, is does it feel solid weight wise on your wrist like the Rolex OP? I did want to buy a Rolex OP at retail, but Rolex has made sure to limit the supply and ensure the OP sells for five digit figures on the secondary market. So the Tsuyosa may be a nice beater watch for the collection.
Great to hear! I've got a 6" wrist myself and it's so hard seeing releases and worrying that they're going to look ridiculous on my wrist. I was a bit underwhelmed by the PRX and I'm a sucker for a president style bracelet. Really digging this release.
dont tell me u acquired all colours range of this model????!!! i only got the yellow one about 1 to 2 years ago ....(i am in asia, singapore and that was probably the last piece left then in singapore as i acquired it via a watch retailer quite unknown to watch enthusiasts as they sell more to kids and middle age aunties )
I can't understand why the so called 'affordable' watch segment now starts over USD 350? Just a few years ago, the Orient (Bambino & Mako) and Seiko (Sports 5 & SKX) used to cost well below this mark (hell, you could get an entry level Seiko Sports 5 for lesser than USD 200) ? The Seiko Prospex Turtle now costs well over USD 600 for its poor 4R36 movement. I am not talking about second hand or grey market watches. Is it due to demand, economics or just manufacturer's greed? As for your question Bruce, I wouldn't go for these Tsuyosa pieces at this price point- The crown at the 4'0 clock position looks cheap. They look like a Rolex oyster perpetual knockoff and don't think these will age very well. I would save my money for a Tissot PRX automatic instead.
I agree. I just posted a similar comment. It looks like an OP knockoff with PRX styled lugs/bracelet. I get the concept, but it's a pass from me. I understand why people would like it though.
Citizen should go with 9000 series with this one tbh. I do have some confusion with the Tsuyosa tho, some reviewers said it's hacking while others said it isn't. Which one is it?
if they make alot of these and they go sub 300 why not try. the yellow one will probably be the one always hard to find a deal on. the bracelet is where they give away that the watch is inexpensive. they could have picked a different bracelet style. oh well
