I don't know why there are so much hate for this brand. I own the Slimline Moonphase, beautiful watch, display caseback, beautiful in house movement. Had it for 7 years now, never had any problems, no services needed still, running in good time. Their Worldtimer & Perpetual Calendar are beautiful and very well priced too 👍👍
should probably get it serviced every 6 years, not when it has a problem. If you don't, when you do have a problem, the watch will be pretty much ruined.

Frederique Constant is a great brand! It's great to see how accessible their price points are, using either Ronda quartz, Sellita automatics, Le Joux Perret movements to their in-house Manufacture calibers- they have it all. I think it's best to get one now, while it's still accessible! As a Highlife COSC owner, it is definitely a quality watch and will be collecting more in the near future! Interesting to hear that they no longer produce the gold plated watches with their Manufacture calibers and only to be available in precious metals. Citizen mostly leaves them alone, with only one representative facilitating between the two companies. FC did also use some Citizen tech in their Hybrid watches back in 2016 or so but FC has mostly moved away from those now.
FC is part of the CITIZEN Group, taking advantage of other CITIZEN Group's companies such as La Joux-Perret (high-end movement manufacturers) and others. As for the design, "they accommodate themselves" with Cartier, VC, Breguet and other prestigious brands' look alike models. Their price/performance ratio is ultra competitive, cleverly thought and very successful in that (big) niche market. Thus, they do a great job.
with some of them its basically 'we have cartier at home'. the entry level mechanical stuff is definitely just VC traditionnalle with some JLC ultra slim sprinkled on the dial

Im soo happy they are finally getting the spotlight - I have the highlife FC-391WN4NH6 number 1102 out of 1888. Fantastic watch, it did have some issues to start with, but they were rapid in resolving them, and it is my daily watch. Excellent price and comes with 2 other integrated straps that take minutes to switch. The steel bracelet is fantastic and definitely had some thought put into its design. Thrilled with my first mechanical watch, and FC will forever be the brand that started my journey. Would recommend
If you want an excellent watch with the best finish and great specs, FC is the right choice. I have a Higlife Chronograph blue and it is absolutely amazing. My girlfriend has an FC and my brother has two pieces as well. Clearly, the FC is love❤️
Frederique Constant makes very nice watches going to get the moonphase auto in blue. looks far expense than the price point imo and is a very nice watch all around.
Go for the quartz version, the powermatic is a non-serviceable movement with plastic parts. Once it needs service they will replace that movement with a new one for 400 dlls....
got my 39mm with the white dial on the 3-link "Bader" bracelet watch on MAMACOO 3 weeks ago and am loving it to pieces. Absolute fantastic watch that wears super comfortable on my 6.75 inch wrist. Chose the 3-link over the 5-link bracelet for the toolless quick adjustment. Way more comfortable than my Longines Hydroconquest 41 mm.
I absolutely love watches, the high end watch brands are out of my budget but the amzwatch has literally an almost duplicate of every single watch on the market . Always a great but no matter your budget.

I have an earlier version of the world timer with roman numerals on the bracelet. I managed to purchase it brand new for just over 1k a few years back. I remember a very wealthy guy at the airport with a Panerai saying how beautiful it was and admiring it. This is a great brand that deserves more recognition.
FC got these chiselled...engraved...u know dials just right. They offer that Breguet look (well kind of) for a fraction of the price. Only thing that kept me from buying a FC so far is that the crystal and case always have that nice matte appearance in marketing materials and on their website but look shiny and reflective in person.

I'm in the watch game for over 20 years. FC has always had the need to bring the Patek inspiration to the mass. I have to say that they really stepped up their game. They are still heavily discounted but a lot of value for money. I just don't like that they are repeating fully inhouse to than say, oh but not the cases, bracelets and dials. We source them.
Usually when brands say “in-house”, they talking about their movements (obviously excluding some of the ultra high horology brands). But I do agree, FC does have a nice quality to value proposition especially if you buy on a discount.

There are just a handful of inhouse movement makers because springs, rubies and balance wheels are extremely difficult to make and the investment is huge. The term in-house is used as a marketing tool by some. FC is a nice brand that's clearly evolving. But the very frequent discounts on these watches is telling me that the retail is over-priced and over-produced.

The Worldtimer has always fascinated me. The value for money you get at that sharp price point is bolocks. Need to physically wear it. But are there some reliability concerns?
When me the spring chicken entry level guy buys a watch, I think a tiny little bit about resale value. Maybe if I put 5k on a second hand entry level rolex, I wear it for a few years... maybe... just maybe... I can sell it for half the price... but if I buy a new brand, it goes to zero from the moment it walks out.

Citizen has eco solar powered watch. Shocking more have not done the same. $500 dollars - great watches.

FC has come a long way from what it used to be. They used to only make Patek homages but now they're going more in-house, you love to see it.

FC has become my favorite brand. Alpina, their sister brand is also very good.
I actually have that world timer in blue now for over a year and no regrets.
