- Summer is just a few weeks away, and that means we could be closer to seeing parachuting spiders.
Joro spiders, or Trichonephila clavata, is black and yellow, about the size of your palm and can grow up to four inches.
They can also parachute up to 100 miles on a balloon made from their spider silk.
"Joro spiders utilize a technique known as ballooning, where they release silk threads into the air, allowing them to be carried by the wind," the NJ Pest Control explained.

This spider also makes 3D webs... one web on the outside that catches prey while the spider is on the inside layer of the web ...the webs are huge and very strong
Source: had about 50 of them in my backyard and they do get big af....
I came here to watch a parachuting spider. Not one clip
Thats because they don't do it. Like many other spiders only the tiniest of babies do this and they don't parachute they spin a single length of web that catches the wind carrying them to their new homes where they never fly like this again.
Fearmongering news
I’d rather live with wolf packs on my property.
Spider wolf packs?? Sounds delicious! 🕷️🕷️🕷️🕷️🕷️🕷️
Oh hell no.
Solution? Flying boots?
damnnn that’s pretty neat lmaoo black widow spiderlings do the same
Yes I’m fully aware this spider poses 0 risk to me, and it’s irrational, but I’m not looking forward to when they get here
So they're our friends? 😂😅
Oooooh so da Rona didn’t get you… MAI LING GRAB THE SPIDERS!
🔥
Yeah, i don't like spiders. 🕷️
Lol just send a spider wise Aussie toddler, he or she will sort it for you
All spiders are venomous. Lots of spider species parachute to disperse as hatchlings. Anyone remember the end of "Charlotte's Web"?
If they'll take on the Asian stinkbugs and the spotted lanternflies, I welcome them. About time Asia sent us something to counter all the other invasive crap they've sent us.
I was bitten by a big grey & black yard spider that lives in the lawn recently. It hurt far worse and longer than a bee sting but that`s all. I stepped on him so he was defending himself. Web spiders help out by controlling various pests in my garden so I like seeing them.
@@baneverything5580Male Spiders Don’t build webs.
Nope!!!! I will be indoors, I am good. They are huge period

Venomous hell naw omg 😮😮😮😮
If you finish the video, you'll see that they're not aggressive and their venom isn't "medically significant" - in other words, they will not hurt you :) Just buzz words for clicks!
😮😢
Thank you China!
