    It's a one piece magwell that is connected to the mainspring housing.

      @Jason Baum I thought it was but it looked different from the other one piece magwells connected to the mainspring I've seen before. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciated!

    Nice review. I’m in love with the specialist. I’m looking for a 5in in the Duty Finish. Thanks for sharing.

    That DW Specialist is exquisite! I love all the smoothed edges and scalloping around the trigger guard and the undercut. I need to get to a local gunshop just to feel one in the hand. Thanks for the eye candy brother, and have a great weekend!

    Wonderful gun. Been looking for a full size 9mm specialist in stainless for months but no luck. I much prefer the older model compared to the newer version, don't care much for the front slide serrations on the new models.

      @Mr. White The Valor if you can find it, the older model is discontinued but you might can find it. It has no serrations as well as the Guardian. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!

      2 dots take practice & you'll never go back to 3 dots if get used to them

    Nice pistol. Dan Wesson makes very nice firearms, I am jealous. My pistols have the 3 dot sights, I would have a hard time with a 2 dot system .

    • @KeanonGilliamSlang369
      @KeanonGilliamSlang369  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @MontanaMountainMen The dots take a bit to get used to but they're ok once you get the hang of it.

      @@KeanonGilliamSlang369 Yeah, I suppose its just because for a long time it was 3 dots.

      If you remember the name of these sights, it's easier to get used to them. They are called straight 8's. If you sit the rear sight directly underneath the front sight, it forms a figure 8. The two circles of a number 8 are connected, with no space between them. Your sight picture should mimic that. They are for combat shooting and fast target acquisition; which means your front sight, as with all handgun sight setups, is your primary focus.

    Love the videos, awesome stuff. Any thoughts on the Specialist vs the Springfield TRP?

    • @KeanonGilliamSlang369
      @KeanonGilliamSlang369  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Michael Brennan That is a tough pairing. I did compare them, not in a video. I would go with the TRP because I look at it as slightly more combat ready. Again a tough choice. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!

      @icodater27 Actually this is a new one.They came out with this model "again" and the new black version. I remember they discontinued it. I thought the same thing. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciated!

      icolater27 I just checked mine it was dated for 2020. The website shows the picatiny rail isn't there but just a single slot. Thanks for pointing it out.

    • @icolater27
      @icolater27 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi
      Yea newer one has just one slot on the rail, also slightly longer dust cover, front serrations and the ball end cut at the front seems to be their own design now which is cool. Also top slid serrations are now reseat and flush.
      I like both models the same really. Both great guns. Hope you enjoy shooting it.

    • @hellotheregeneralkenobi3976

      @@KeanonGilliamSlang369 Keanon, your model was discontinued in 2019. The new model Specialists have the top serrations machined into the slide (not resting on top), front serrations, and the slide release is not recessed. Btw, your serial number is dated 2019, so probably one of the last ones to be made before Dan Wesson made these changes.

    Does your Dan Wesson specialist have a fully supported chamber 45acp?

    • @KeanonGilliamSlang369
      @KeanonGilliamSlang369  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Hungarian Hillbilly No it does not. If it was an alloy frame or 9mm, 40 cal, or 10mm it would have a supported chamber and or ramp. (Not that it doesn't exist for steel frame firearms in 45acp)

    • @hungarianhillbilly4144
      @hungarianhillbilly4144 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@KeanonGilliamSlang369 Thank you for the feedback so quickly. It's weird some specialist have a ramped barrel in 45acp like the one on the Beretta USA 9mm channel. He should it. But when I looked at one in the gun shop it wasn't ramped.

    If you could only have one, would you roll with the Springfield TRP Operator or the DW Specialist

    • @KeanonGilliamSlang369

      @Black Consecutive It would be the DW Specialist. The TRP is great in it's own rite but the Specialist has superior quality. Thanks for watching, greatly appreciate it!
