It amazes me how the relevance of some things seems to be (in some cases)
      ...eternal.
In the case of contemporary reality--does it mean that things will continue to get worse and worse for Black America? 🤷🏾‍♀️

Sure! I guess I bought Flying records vinyl when I was a kid in 1992. This, the young Ice Cube in Boyz 'n da Hood... De La Soul with Saturday Morales remix, Will Smith with Jazzy Jeff, Queen la Tifah with Unity, US 3 with Cantaloop, Digable Planets with The Feme Fetale... Just another world.

Lyrically, i rate him above Biggie or Jay Z or any other. The only ones on his level for depth are 2pac, Nas, Ice Cube, Chuck D amongst the more well known. He was too dangerous for mainstream and never sold out.

This song often does make me cry brah. Reminds me of some of the best times of my life when this tune was playing and the memories of the lads who were there that aren't anymore (I fucking miss my boys so much), also takes you back to the period when hip hop like this was a gold standard. It's a hella nostalgic melody/sample. Just transports you back to a better time.

THISSS is what you call "TIMELESS" music! I have so many child hood memories this song brings back to me. I'm 45 now but when this dropped my BigBroski Mont played HS basketball for the Mifflin Punchers.. his buddy Damien who also played on the team would come stay the night 9/10x after Varsity games and me my ma bro and step pops would order pizza. Fun ass times he would even stay up when my bro passed out playing "Super Mario Bros" 🤣 man what fun times that dude just didn't know how much i appreciated that shit! Paris was so underrated imo..

I think I know how I'll feel when I'm in my 60s and so on (God willing)
Make your days count everyone! Make your days worth missing, and enjoy what you got right now!

      COLINNNNNN!!!
      You're speaking to my soul💯💯💯
I'm 46, and although I'm sure most ppl probably feel that their childhood was the best, you and I truly DID come up during one of the greatest times...
It's a little sad to me, that if I even attempted to try and explain all the things that MADE it so special to a kid growing up today, they literally wouldn't just not be ABLE to be able to process the issues and subjects I'd speak about--they wouldn't CARE.
I hope one day, the circular nature of life, brings hip hop back to where it was in the 90s...
It might not have been perfect, but at least it felt like we were TRYING to figure it all out, as we went!
(You and I are now "old heads" it seems)
Had to take a second to say #SALUTE to your comment...
      Made my entire day💯👊💯
      Stay blessed bro
      Love & light
      🙏❤🙏

Man I had this taped off Power 99 late 92 into 93. Raw West coast shit getting play in Ohilly. I had Paris first album. White teen who loved hip hop during the golden era. This song is about as deep as it gets-just incredible music back then. G Thang was bubbling around the same time and things were about to go in the G funk direction and the political/social conscious hip hop (Native Tongues, PE, Paris, X Clan, etc) would soon fade unfortunately
