@The Baddestman That’s not how a full on thorough investigation works. You ask everyone that was in the room so can get a better understanding of what went on. She was a witness. What’s the point of this investigation going on for nearly 2 months if your not going to talk to any witnesses except a select few? She saw firsthand way more than a lot of other people that got involved by the end of it. You don’t just assume any individual is biased. Not saying she would or wouldn’t be biased. But everyone is innocent in there minds when in these situations. Everyone. Honestly really baffling that they wouldn’t question her at all and get both sides since you know that’s how an investigation is supposed to work lol.
@The Baddestman What neutral parties? Is Brandon Cutler and Nakazawa considered neutral to you? Why question anyone that came in well after it started when nobody witnessed the start of it? She was in there from the start of it. I guess she’s not a witness unless she was swinging her crutch. This is quite something to listen to. Dave: Um, ah, well I talked to someone, but it's not someone who you would think, but it was someone who is a real person but nobody has talked to me for months so I don't know anything but I pretty much uh, know everything. Nick: I also talked to someone but it wasn't someone named CM Punk. Dave: Yeah, I pretty much know everything but I don't know a whole lot but what I do know is uh, everything. Nick: I know a whole lot but I never talked to CM Punk who is a really nice guy when he's not screaming at people. Dave: So, so, so can I talk now? I've reported that before because I knew that. Nick: I want to eat CM Punk's muffins. Dave: Thanks for coming on, we've really given the audience a lot of quality information. Nick: We really have and I just want to say that I love CM Punk, even though I've never talked to him.
"No one is allowed to say anything" but Sunday Dave said "if it were true that Larry were hurt, why didn't he say anything?" I watch these shows a lot but there's something seriously wrong with this. Perhaps there's only one or two people breaking the rules and theyre allowed to manipulate the story how they see fit
It’s Meltzer lmao. He’s never been unbiased. Since WWE basically said F U, he’s been peddling nonsense from backstage folks for years. He’s not a journalist. Meltzer just preys on wrestling fans’ obsession with “knowing the truth.” He’s a grifter to the max.
I always click on these videos thinking ill be able to walk away with something new but its just Dave talking himself in circles. I really do enjoy Bryan and respect him, because even when I disagree with him, he is clear and direct with what he says and I feel theres no subconcious motive behind what he says. Good charisma that makes you listen to what he says. Its clear and directed. So basically the opposite of Dave. Which is why in most of these videos with Dave, Bryan speaks maybe 5 sentences over 20 minutes because thats all he needs to communicate a subject. I understand they need Dave for these clips because he can babble on and on. Turns a five minute conversation into a forty minute conversation, which is good for the algorithim of youtube.
I don't know why but Nick and Dave just decided to turn into the prime time players for a second. Millions of dollars, millions of dollars, millions of dollars.
Not everyone watched the damn scrum. Not everyone lives on the net. Actually met 5 wrestling fans yesterday at Disney- I had a Punk shirt on. A few said “where’s he been 8 years” and others who said “best in the world” this notion everyone lives on the net is foolish. I bet some people have no clue about the scrum. Food for thought.
Dear god reasonable thoughts. I enjoy AEW more often than not and have been on Punk's "side" about 99% of this, but consider the audience size. AEW's pulling, at best, about 1/3 of what WWE was doing when Punk dropped his initial pipebomb in 2011. AEW's own audience tuned out to a similar 1/3 fraction when Omega came back to team with the Young Bucks. Then all this happened in an already after-hours scrum that primarily rubbed against the egos of the people who weren't exactly soaring AEW to new heights either via media exposure or the product itself. There just isn't a large enough audience to care that much. If the Elite really try to make this a guilt trip storyline I still say we will hear at least one, "CM Punk," chant in their direction before I am dust in the ground.
@@k91110 he literally did all of that, and the elite hated him for it lol not hard to do a quick Google search, and see all the young serious guys loved him. It was the Jackson's, Jericho, and hangman who disliked him. Omega was trying to be a middle man, because he wants this shit to succeed. Omega, with all his faults, knows he can shine with punk, while the Jackson's are terrified of punk ruining their Little indie spot fest. Push come to shove, Omega will side with his friends, but he was trying to not sink the ship.
@@andrewparker1622 None of them are Guerrero, Benoit, Malenko, or Saturn. They can't draw a dime on their own, and WWE would turn away most of them. This is Stone Cold and Kurgan. Rock and Perry Saturn… Punk is the top draw, Cabana is a jobber who wouldn’t be noticed if he was let go. Why are people so up in arms about Cabanas position with Punks arrival. Isn’t this a business?
Because he's their friend, and they believe he was treated unfairly. It's not that difficult to understand. How would you feel if you were in a similar situation?
@@foaly5 treated unfairly? He was on tv and no one cared he made tony no money. Your job as an evp is to help your company succeed and make money. I get wanting to help out friends but don’t use other peoples money to do it.
@@Charles-qw5ug I get your point, I was just explaining to op why some of the locker room were upset with how cabana was treated when punk arrived. I think punk probably wasn't liked in the locker room in general, it wasn't just the elite guys he had issues with.

If you were to believe their reports over the last week, you would think Punk is 99% done. But because of Nick's line of questioning, here Dave and Bryan are now clarifying that he is injured and absolutely nothing is concrete. It's almost like they were trying to drive the narrative.
"Nobody has been allowed to talk" Then how do you know anything about the situation? You "wrestling journalists" are shooting yourself in the foot. "Just trust me" is not a valid source.
Just a reminder RE Jericho's "cancer" comment, in 2014 Punk snubbed Jericho because he didn't trust him and openly stated he refused to talk to a guy who would turn round and discuss it on his podcast to get clout. There's been bad blood for YEARS. Punk has had him pegged as a clout chasing idiot for years

"I'm getting getting getting alittle echo echo echo over here here here, it's fine " No. No it wasn't. I felt like this is exactly the kinda thing that woulda sent Kermit the frog into a freak out on the old Muppet show.
If they truly want this behind them, they’ll have to lift the gag order. People are too curious to let it go. It makes sense to keep people quiet while tempers are hot because you don’t want people to say something stupid in anger, but at some point the silence does more damage than good.
Did Colt Cabana get a pay cut because he got moved to ROH? I don’t understand what the issue was for the locker room. He wasn’t having the run of a lifetime on AEW or anything before Punk got there. Cabana was like the fifth man down the totem pole in the Dark Order which is a mid-card group.
He's been friends with everyone for years and is apparently very popular backstage. Seems like a great guy to have around for others morale even if his own TV time is minimal. Punk coming in and Cabana leaving is like replacing a radiator with a vacuum.
@@supertarantatikataka3313 ; The only problem is, now he’s getting paid just to hang out in the locker room with his friends. AEW already has enough paid entourage with Brandon Cutler and Michael Nakazawa. It was time for Cabana to go the way of Joey Janela and Marco Stunt.
Colt meant nothing to aew tv and tony was going to just let his contract expire but the evp’s convinced tony to resign him and move him to roh. And colt has done nothing in roh either. He may be liked backstage but he ain’t backstage anymore so tony just trew away money because of the evp’s. I can’t understand how that’s good business but it ain’t my company or money.

So ridiculous that this entire issue stems from gossip about COLT CABANA of all people, and his job security in ‘All Friends Wrestling’… I hate to say it, but once again the main person at fault here is Tony Khan with his inept leadership. He may like to give himself all of the job titles in the world, but his leadership is sorely lacking in that company. The moment that there were ANY rumblings in his locker room about CM Punk wanting Cabana gone, TK should have nipped that in the bud. Instead, there had to be Wrestling Observer stories about Nick Buck ‘saving’ Cabana’s job. Then there was Page’s weird promo before Double or Nothing. All of this ridiculous internet wrestling gossip and twittering brewing. Apparently Punk mentioned things to Tony, but clearly nothing was ever resolved between the parties involved. Was it even attempted? Then Punk went on a live mic and fired back at Hangman. And STILL things were not worked out behind the scenes before All Out… Clearly there were some serious issues, anybody watching the TV could see that. Tony Khan tried to pretend the issues weren’t there, and wanted to stay on everybody’s good side, until it all blew up in his face. Multiple times. Now he’s just going to keep listening to whoever kisses his ass the Best. He truly is turning his company into WCW 2.0; just like he always wanted, I suppose 🤷🏻♂️
I'm pretty much done with AEW. I was so excited about the company when it formed, but it has turned into TNA 2.0. They are doubling doen on the indie goofs and running off all of the serious wrestlers in the company. It is going to fail.
It was always safe to assume these guys were talking out of their ass but now it’s for a different reason. Obviously framing the narrative in favor of their buddies is a serious hit to any credibility they had with me to begin with.
Punk went off while calmly eating a muffin, then fired on an EVP. This guy is a legend. He did something that will never be forgotten. He couldn't go out any better than that.
Dave knew nothing like 3days ago and now he knows everything😂plus how van you investigate without talking to the people in the actual room, they won't say anything casue it is Embarrassing af and makes Mr booker of the year Tony even more like a joke
They atleast wnet did business and as far as I know drew their biggest numbers of the year of, too bad aew isn't an actual wrestling company it's just some nerd playing with his toys deciding who to wrestle when, your fucking dweeb
Punk is that dude that tells someone to come see him if they have a problem with him after he cusses them out but then is surprised that they're not so civil when they come and see him. Like what did Phil expect to happen, a friendly knock on his door and asking him asking permission to step into his locker room?
But, like, if that happened, did he not have the right to defend himself. The Elite/Uncle Dave narrative seems to be they just came round for a polite chat and to play with his dog. I'm not really defending Punk, but you can't have it both ways.
@@inlimboed91 they may have, but it’s doubtful. However, Punk was a madman during the scrum, his eyes were practically popping out, so I don’t think there was any talking to him.
I don't think he really cared about the consequences- he just wanted to vent, if it lead to a fight so be it, I think he was actually expecting a fight & was caught off guard that he's been portrayed as the agressor. In his mind, the moment they shoved the door open, the fight was on. I'm also confused why Meltzer & Alvarez think Punk would've been in a good mood after he vented? Sure, there was some relief after he'd vented & released that pressure that's been on his cheast, he was very obviously clearly disgruntled to have started that tangent to begin with & in his mind, they were largely responsible for fostering & potentially spreading those rumours when he feels they should've been making it clear that it was Tony's decision, not Punk's. At that point, while the Elite definitely needed to have a word with him, it was clear how bad of a decision it was for all 3 to storm into his private quarters. Someone unrelated to Punk's accusations needed to mediate that straight away- or the Elite should've waited for Punk to cool down & actually knock on the door.
There's two things Punk hasn't had yet which I think would be attractive for him to go back to WWE. 1) Main event at Mania. The true Main event-- last match, 2nd night. 2) Hall of Fame. I think a short term/part-time deal is something that would make a lot of sense on both sides.
It makes the most sense imo a wrestlemania main event is the thing he coverted his entire career. If cody gets the belts I imagine he would push for it aswell. Part time contract big dollars he can still do acting work. Can probably negotiate a new job for his buddy ace steel write some wrongs and finish his career on his own terms.
I'm with Dave, nobody is going to remember his last match, they will remember everything after. People saw the match. Nobody saw the fight, so that's what they care about right now. I wish the match was the last memory in AEW. It isn't. Now you can't say he went out on top. You have to say they paid him to leave because working with him was impossible. He might sign with WWE just to keep that from being his last memory in wrestling. And I wouldn't blame him if he did. I don't know how well it would go, and they don't actually need him, but if his motivation was to fix his image, I'd support that. It would really suck if he came back to wrestling for it to end like this. It would suck for anyone.
“He wanted to do it.” …… Multiple times during it he said “I regret that I have to do this because of what you all keep reporting.” Punk : “I’m sorry I’m snippy, I’m hurt and I’m tired and I’m old and I work with fucking children.” Dear God the spin they are putting on this. The man had a torn triceps not sure you’d be in a good mood with that and pretty sure it’d get worse with a bunch of goons showing up at your door lol.
Punks speech was premeditated and he still went psycho in the lockerroom. The elite reacted on the fly and had the presence of mind and professionalism to bring head of legal and talent with them. Ffs Stop riding punks dick.
Wow! This whole story puts high school drama to shame. Grown adult men that are in their 30s dealing with drama that all it took was just them talking amongst themselves and a boss that either didn't have the whereabouts or the spine to make sure that his stop stars were on the same page and there was no lingering issues. I'm not a AW hater and I'm not a WWE super fan boy. I'm just a wrestling fan and this just makes me roll my eyes that they're going to let go. The biggest draw that they've ever had in that company over a year and didn't get much out of him other than super spurts of success.
Punks ego is way too big, and he's way to immature to be professional. Too much negativity, and a cancer in the locker room, as jericho said. He will be trashing aew just like he did with wwe. Hey punk!!.. YOU ARE THE PROBLEM!
I don't expect AEW to make a statement at any point in the foreseeable future. Their EVPs went into the locker room of the top star in the company and instigated a physical altercation. This issue had been brewing for months without being properly addressed. Punk has grounds to run AEW out of business if he wants to.
I really can't take Dave seriously - he really seems to have no idea what he's talking about while trying to seem like he actually does. That he has no idea how to conduct an interview in this video is really suspect to me considering his supposed experience as a journalist. But mostly his story just doesn't make sense and considering he's obviously having sources from only one side... Punk is no saint and he's most definitely not been innocent on that day but Dave's reporting makes it seem like he's the sole instigator. He was injured, in a room with his dog and his friends wife and was outnumbered at least 3 to 1. It's almost guaranteed that the EVPs were just as much or even more at fault in that situation.
Feel free to disagree but I don't think it's a big enough beef to be blown this far out of proportion. This story is far more media speculation and rumor innuendo. One of the biggest facts is CM Punk is injured and out for 5-6 months. All the rest of it is playground drama. One thing that does stand out is Jim Ross keeps reiterating the phrase "Personal issues draw more money than titles."
Tony Con choosing to be on the EVP's (the instigators) side over Punk lost all credibility to me. It seems like if you're not friends with the EVP's or are more over than them, the EVP's will do all they can to get you out of the company.
What a dumb take. It's fine if you like Punk. Whatever, but you're insane. Punk went hard talking shit about people, invited them to come see him, and threw the first punch. Making excuses for that is just you being a blind fanboy.
@@Danielson1818 That's what I think about your reply. Con doesn't have the balls to run his company. It's obvious the EVP's are the ones who run the show. They chased out Cody Rhodes and now CM Punk-future Hall of Fame talents.
@AEW Women’s Division Blog True but then the question is who would be willing enough to take the L in that feud. They both clearly don’t like each other so getting one of them to agree to lose to the other would be difficult
I won’t believe Punk is leaving till he or Tony confirm it themselves. This is just belief rather than factual stuff right now, so I would take this with a grain of salt, first it was reported that Punk was gonna have a buyout and those talks stalled due to a non complete clause, so is he leaving or what?? Every week these dirtsheet writers will say he’s gonna leave but then those rumors stall and nothing comes out of it. So we really shouldn’t depend on getting answers from reporters until we get a clear one from either Tony or Punk. But then again Tony made it clear that he’s not gonna answer anything regarding Punk so in reality we really don’t know what’s up with Punk right now on whether or not he’s coming back. No matter how much these Journalists pretend to know everything.
It’s not suspicious to not question the eye witness at the time of a fight It’s perfectly logical for a investigation not to ask what the eye witness saw
The enemy of my enemy is my friend. Go main event wrestlemania punk. That’s what I would do if I was both punk or hhh other than The Rock, no one bigger at the moment.
I used to disagree with the opinion about cmpunk going to wwe but that last part in the video about hhh and punk wanting to prove that they can work with people they don't like is a good idea
I don't buy this for one second!!! Punk ain't going anywhere its all a work there playing it off bc he's injured and going to be out for 9 months. I don't believe Tony khan is that stupid to let cm punk walk!! I know he's pretty stupid but he ain't that fucking stupid
Exactly! Tony knows Punk is money and the biggest draw in AEW right now. The fact that Tony is refusing to give any information regarding Punk’s status with the company and how we aren’t getting any clear answers from Punk or Tony, it makes me think it’s a possible work. It’s similar to how Tony never gave a clear answer regarding MJF’s status after he cut that pipebomb after double or nothing.
@@shaheenmall3923 yeah I agree!! Also did you catch they mentioned him on TV a few weeks ago? I don't think they would have mentioned him in any capacity if he was really gone!! This is very bad for AEW. But it might be for the best. It honestly sounds like the AEW locker room wants nothing to do with him. It's not just the elite that want him gone. It's a shame though, because he honestly had the best 12 months probably in wrestling history
LOL you literally have it backwards 😅 Phil’s the one who melted down over a throwaway comment by Hangman. 😂😂 and Punks salary likely outweighed the measly 100k at gates and TV he brought in. And BTW, Hangman v Omega PPV still outsold the ones Punk headlined. Jericho also reportedly hates the guy. Doesn’t take much to find him, Cody, Booker T and others shooting on what a tool he really was.
I’m a fan of both companies. The more wrestling the better. So many talented guys in the world at this stuff and we should all be grateful we get to see all of it. That said, it’s very clear to see what side Dave is on. It’s a shame that somebody with as much clout and notoriety in the business, has a clear bias and agenda towards one side. I’ve always heard he favors AEW over WWE and just kind of shrugged it off but seeing him very obviously taking the young bucks/Omega’s side over punk is sad
Ever since the Cody saga earlier this year, F4W and most other outlets, dirtsheets have fomented these "AEW in disarray" stories, despite the thought that more wrestling companies would lead to better business for them. I hypothesize business is down, and their actively trying to work the news and rumors to depress AEW success, and eventually position WWE as the overbearing dominant force it was in years prior. Then F4W can reclaim its "oppositional voice" status, and in theory its views and revenue. Happening in the news media surrounding other real world elements, wouldn't surprise me if this is what's happening here.

He’s not going to do that. He gets a paycheck from Dave and he knows Dave is petty.

I read this the moment they did that in the video at the 8:45 ‘ish mark. 😅 💴 💰

No punk. No AEW. 👎 Hello again, WWE.
So ridiculous that this entire issue stems from gossip about COLT CABANA of all people, and his job security in ‘All Friends Wrestling’…
I hate to say it, but once again the main person at fault here is Tony Khan with his inept leadership.

Still so weird seeing Dave in the flesh

It was always safe to assume these guys were talking out of their ass but now it’s for a different reason. Obviously framing the narrative in favor of their buddies is a serious hit to any credibility they had with me to begin with.
I thought their credibility was shot when they applaud during those media scrums.

Exactly. Try that with a Steiner back in the day. Cya in hospital.
What? Punk threw the first punch. It sounds like he was EXACTLY ready and not at all surprised.
Jesus Christ hey Alvarez mute Dave’s mic when the guest is talking.
There's two things Punk hasn't had yet which I think would be attractive for him to go back to WWE. 1) Main event at Mania. The true Main event-- last match, 2nd night. 2) Hall of Fame. I think a short term/part-time deal is something that would make a lot of sense on both sides.

I don't expect AEW to make a statement at any point in the foreseeable future. Their EVPs went into the locker room of the top star in the company and instigated a physical altercation. This issue had been brewing for months without being properly addressed. Punk has grounds to run AEW out of business if he wants to.
I agree but the Elite has Dave and these goons full on in their back pocket....Hell Dave is largely responsible for everything kicking off.
Great interview
Punk only got hurt in 1 match... so how would he be injury prone? his own stupidity is what did him in on his first injury with his foot.
Feel free to disagree but I don't think it's a big enough beef to be blown this far out of proportion. This story is far more media speculation and rumor innuendo. One of the biggest facts is CM Punk is injured and out for 5-6 months. All the rest of it is playground drama. One thing that does stand out is Jim Ross keeps reiterating the phrase "Personal issues draw more money than titles."
maybe they're building to jericho vs. punk for the roh title with real "heat"
Meltzer is like a young version of Larry’s dad from Curb Your Enthusiasm. He’s just missing the big goofy glasses.
Tony Con choosing to be on the EVP's (the instigators) side over Punk lost all credibility to me. It seems like if you're not friends with the EVP's or are more over than them, the EVP's will do all they can to get you out of the company.
EVPs are boring on tv and seem like tools.
What a dumb take. It's fine if you like Punk. Whatever, but you're insane. Punk went hard talking shit about people, invited them to come see him, and threw the first punch. Making excuses for that is just you being a blind fanboy.
