Take a look at when David Letterman interviews her and constantly cuts off her answers...This is a very good interview...RIP David Brenner...
That's not a good interviewer. A good host moves the pace of the interview along to get to all the points they need to get to. Remember, most guests have things to talk about and promote. Also, the host has key questions to get to. They don't have all day and night. They have segments, other guests, commercials, etc. They're not there just to talk. The technique is to just jump right in there and ask the next question if the guest is getting long-winded. Everything is situational though.
