Can't tell you what this mean for me to see just now. Lost my dad 8 months ago...am a singer....hugely inspired by Dolly and in later life by Shania.....my desire to sing was because of my dads love of country music and the greats. So this was amazing to see 4 incredible women all together speaking from the heart....but Shania's words about her parents and about what music is to all of us, to her and to them.....in tears....she worded it so aptly, the feelings in my heart mirrored right here. Thank you for this post...i'm so glad i came upon it today. xx
I, agree, with Isabelle- Dolly's per, is lovely- Oprah, on the other does not seem warm or real. I, just do not get Oprah's appeal. She is not that intelligent friendly or even cares about God. So, much for singing in the choir when she was little at the Baptist Church- give me Shan; or, Dolly or Myanyday. Oprah was better when she was a newscaster for a local station- now she thinks her crap does not stink- who would want a hug/ picture from her anyways---SNOB.....

One of my friends said , Roxie , She is what you need and I laughed but ... didn"t long once I knew she was the truth and the truth was what I needed to face inorder for me to live !! Any way...All you ladies are beautiful people there for the people & I so appreciate that !!

She's a little thing and very beautiful 😍. Dolly said welcome and shook my hand, I swear I didn't wash that hand for a week.
Out of the 2 country ladies. Melissa is a stand out! She does write ALL of her songs, doesn't need a co-writer, She can play on stage all by herself without a band, she can set it all up Live and Alone. She is the best. She Rocks and she is beautiful.
I;ve seen Melissa in concert and she is really good live musically but also really good at drawing an audience in.That made it extra fun. In contrast I walked out of a Lauryn Hill concert because that was the opposite. Still ended up great because went to a small tent to watch Baaba Maal and that was an awesome show of genuine good vibes all around

I had already learnt one of her songs,MaMa make for me,and I used to sing it whenever my mind made out to sing it. That song is very emotional and I think that everyone who hears her song will have some kinds of warm feelings and her song let me know to respect more to my mum. Oh geez, Oprah has to interject and say she interviewed Steel Magnolias cast ... has to let everybody know--it's all about her. SMH. I cringed when she interviewed Dolly in the late 80's. She made Dolly stand up in front of the audience and turn around...and all she did was interrupt Dolly constantly and focus on Dolly's figure, weight loss, dieting, what she ate, etc. It was horrible.
