Great video! I live 46.7 nautical miles from Port Townsend, on Camano Island near Whidbey Island. I attend Skagit Valley College Marine Tech school in Anacortes and am currently in a Marine Electronics class...So, a great lesson in this episode:) It makes sense you had to update the software since the boat has sat on the hard for so long.
Not only that but as you will see in the future episodes the real issue ends up being that the Autopilot was never successfully installed but the tech who installed it didn't tell us that until we were 5 days out on our delivery.
I LOVE Pt. Townsend. I try to visit at least once a year. I live about 4 hours away by car. I have several friends who live in what the locals call PT. I have attended the Wooden Boat Festival a couple of times. It is a wonderful place to visit and or to make a home.
@@SailorJames next time you're in Port Townsend, walk down Water Street to the Wooden Boat Center. The crew their is painstakingly restoring the fishing boat Western Flyer, which is featured prominently in John Steinbeck's book, The Sea of Cortez.

James it look like you are a big challenge to the captain. You always try to question his desitions. Remember you are not the captain but crew. I like your chanel.
How exactly do you think I am challenging the captain? He is one of my dear friends and asks my advice regularly. I never challenged his authority onboard.

My wife and I were just up there from San Diego in July. We stayed on a boat in that same marina. What an awesome little town. Love your channel!

Great vid. We've crewed for delivery twice. It can be fun if the captain is cool. Always an interesting and learning experience.
Yeah I have been on deliveries where some of the crew members were really hard to be around. I have had good luck with captains so far.
