As a prostate cancer survivor, this really hit home with me. So sorry for your friend’s loss. Mine was caught in time because my physician insisted on annual PSA tests and when the results suddenly went wonky it was time for further investigation. You can say I’m an advocate for annual testing. If you are 50 or older and haven’t been tested, now’s a great time. My prostate was enlarged, but that was my only symptom. And so many men have enlarged prostates, it isn’t really a red flag. Without the screening, I might not be typing this. I have side effects I’ll live with for the rest of my life, but “live” is the key here. And I can still run! So glad your back is permitting you to run, Ben! Keep on keeping on.
Great job to get us aware of this Ben and all the lads. My dad got diagnosed aprox 2 years ago and is terminal now. This is a fantastic way to get people aware and try and get in some donations.
What are you thoughts on MAF training for building Aerobic Capacity as compared to Threshold training for beginners and intermediate runners for base building?
MAF is really just heart rate based zone 2 training. Your zone 2 runs should have a fairly low HR anyway, regardless of how much threshold and vo2 stuff you're doing in addition
@@mintymilkk this is correct. When you read into it MAF is simply zone 2 plus changes to diet. It's fine but if you want to get faster you have to run fast regularly.. it's pretty basic really. This whole 'zone 2' 'run slow' rhetoric is nonsense in isolation, but it appeals to those that think they can basically train easy and get faster for free
Great to have you with us last night, mate. Thank you so much for putting this together!
Great to meet you all! Keep it moving 👊🏻

Never done it so can’t really comment. Think there are more effective ways to train personally :)

Maf training is more than just zone 2.... people should read the book to the end, not finish half way....done it, been there..👍👍
