Off Grid Hot Water. Is it Time for a Change?

Not a long video but very important information! If you live full time off grid, what are you doing for hot water? Some options might not be the best! It depends on your water source and other factors. We have been using an Ecotemp L10 for 3 years and are on our second one. Actually it's three, but one got frozen (oops). Is this the best option for us with a well? Tune in to find out.

If for some reason it is a pressure issue, add a manual water pressure regulator at the cold water inlet and set it to the low end of your pressure tank switch.

Good information to know. We bought one of those on Amazon for our off grid shower we have at the cabin in the UP Before we went up on our first cleaning trip after we bought the property. It works great. While cleaning out a junkie little travel trailer that was left on the property we found another brand new one in a box in it . my wife, Glenda and I were talking to each other, wondering how long they would actually last. Well, I think you gave us the answer. Thanks for the info.

@@ADifferentKindofQuiet well we made three trips up there last year to work on the place for about a week each time. So yes, I think they should last a bit before. We have to worry about something different. Eventually, after the cabin is done, I will be building a little shower house, that is enclosed and may have to do something a little different. We will see. I think we are planning a trip towards the end of this month or the first week of June. Looking forward to it. I am doing a lot of work here trying to get a garden area fenced in and built before we go.

You could get a small electric water heater (dorm or apt size) and only use it 4 hours a day to take showers and wash dishes. I have one that fits under the sink and it works great and because it is not on 24/7 it can run off a solar battery.
