Disclaimer: the copper 22 is effective within 50-75 yards, the bullet weight isn't sufficient to be stable past 75 yards
I'm going to try the coper 22 tomorrow @ 100 to see what it does.
it keeps it momentum and horizontal flight up to about 300 ft before it starts to drop off. Even at 300ft i wouldnt use it. At that footage id be on my 9mm

@@turtletruth When projectiles are that light, I would like them to stay together. That's just my preference. I really like CCI Stingers or Federals Punch
@@shovelhead2155 Have you ever shot anything other than paper? The CCI-segmented hp penetrates the same as the stinger but causes greater tissue damage and faster kills!

ive got the same lever action i love mine
I shoot a 22 precision rimfire and only use subsonic finding the best it likes are the CCI standard velocity. A 5 round group is one jagged hole at 50 yards. For shooting small game it's the same solid lead rounds, no HP and head shots.
What weapon are you using to shoot precision 22?

I use cci quiet, in the neighborhood, don't cycle semi auto but very quiet and effective on pest

C C I also makes a couple of "Segmented Hollow Points " one is like the Stinger, and I believe one is a "Quiet " version. Both are designed to break into about 4 pieces. Also Winchester now has a 22 Silvertip hollow point that does basically the same thing. None of them penetrate very far , but for small game, they should be good. (Maybe not if you intend to eat the meat, though)
I've tried those segmented ones. I still think these mini mag varmint's are the best so far
@@andrewmconrad i would take the segmented hp's for damage. Those 4 pc's will make 4 different wound channels
Unfortunately for me living under newsom the Supreme leader my 1 and only option to hunt with a .22lr is with the cci copper 21gn. The problem is at it’s by far the absolute worst grouping round I’ve ever shot. There are so many better options but thankfully my supreme leader newsom says lead bad
It's developed for 25-70 yds for small game hunting so a different bullet will be best for longer ranges
@@bigandlittlefirearms8395 yeah the point of my comment is there are no or very limited options for .22lr past 70 yards that are lead free. I did just find some eco speed lead free 24gn that I’m gonna test and I have a box of Winchester lead free that I bought about 10 years ago, they are made of solid tin but I only have a box of 50 and haven’t seen those anywhere since.
I’m in the same situation you’re in. Some subsonic coppers would be nice since my rifle shoots the subsonic stuff so much better at longer ranges.
@@gregdenton5282 yeah I think the idea of making the coppers hyper velocity is just a bad move. Make them 38/40 grains at +-1000fps and we’re good to go

Because of the length of your rifle, .22lr is a very mild round, even without a silencer. A pistol though, you would have probably had your ears ringing a tad. 😆 All these rounds have their purpose, just depends on what that purpose is... Thanks 4 the video my friend

Looking at switching to CCi copper or the segmented mini mag for hunting. The CCi subs just lack a little punch on big possums/hare.
Id be curious as to how you do with cci copper. In my experience they are garbage in terms of grouping

@@VitalArms CCI has stated that they are effective within 75 to 50 yd past that the bullet white is so light that they cannot be stabilized effectively they still have more range than birdshot and in my opinion still would do a good job of replacing birdshot because they are more precise I've used them to kill squirrel and they work pretty decently
How does the Stinger compare to the mini-mag?
The stingers act like the coppers, no expansion!
How long is the barrel on that 22? CCI has a new hyper rd. The CCI Clean, flying at 1550 fps. Maybe next time shoot in the longest part of Peter Rabbit. 🐰

I stumbled upon these looking for the CCI mini mags that I was told feed almost flawless through my AR. Not exactly sure what the difference is from the “other” mini mags other than the grain being 40 and I’m assuming they’re not hollow points? If you can clear this up for me you’d be a life saver!
Some mini mags are hollow points and others are round nose. Difference in 4 grains

Cci makes .22 mini mag. It's still a .22 lr it just has a bit more zip then a standard velocity. 22lr
@@tufftrucker40 I figured that out. I couldn’t find an answer about it anywhere online so I said what the hell and loaded one of the mini mags into a single shot .22lr and it would run fine everytime. Seems like it had a little more zip coming out
@@scotthartfield9865you are confusing the minimag with the 22 mag.. different things. The minimag is just a particular 22lr round name.

17 hmr best varmit round by far but mini mag 36 gr varmit is as good as it gets in 22
I love the 36gr varmint. I still want to get a Henry 17hmr and maybe a ruger also. I'm only just getting started, lol
I like the cci copper. You can shoot steel as close as 2ft away without worry of riccochet. They just kinda... *poof*.

Yepp a mix of copper pressed with polymer.
I've been hit with 22 ricochet off steel, its not a big deal. Just wear eye pro and you'll be fine.
Any idea at what distance it goes subsonic?
75 yards is 1048 fps and 100 yards is 1003 fps with the box velocities.
