@@devilsbreath5917 You can do an aftermarket crossover that eliminates the stock cat, but leaves the oem slipons. It sounds pretty comparable to the voodoos but not as loud.
I put aftermarket exhaust on my 2009 vmax you don't have to redo the computer disconnect a battery for about three to five minutes then connect it back up start it and the computer will adjust itself to the exhaust flow kind of like riding in the higher elevations to the lower elevations it will adjust itself just like my Toyota Tundra I put aftermarket exhaust on it disconnected battery hook it back up in the computer adjusted to the different flow which is all I did and definitely a big difference with the performance of the bike it will get it on
Like the looks of the stock exhaust, clean lines and flow. Like the sound of aftermarket exhaust. Have Vance and Hines on mine, but makes bike look empty near the rear and underbelly.
If there is a bike that impresses by its power it is the 1700 VMax. No aftermarket sound needed. Noisy stuff is for small, wanna be big bikes. The VMax is way beyond that.
Did you ever do the follow up video on the 2010 vmax after you got the ECU reflashed, I'd like to hear it!! My 2016 is to loud, I need some good baffles, got any suggestions
@@mountmorris774 It's an ugly proposition. If the popping is at WOT, you have a lean condition from either a vacuum leak or a clogged main jet. If it's at idle you may have a low speed jet or air bleed clogged. In either case the carb rack needs to be removed and broken down so you can remove the carb bowls and low speed jet assemblies. Then you have to hope against hope that the soft brass jets aren't frozen in place. If they are, you have to order new parts from Yamaha. Once you reassemble you have to sync the carbs. You could instead try running some carb cleaner through it.
@@joshuapotts7634 I did pee shooting jets. But I didn't take brass out of bottom to drain. Do you have to take brass out so it drains? Only one carb doing it also.. So if pee shooting doesn't work any other way get ti that jet to clean without tearing apart..
Sounds great, but is there any notable power difference besides sounding great lol ? The new exhaust didn’t hurt it start up. It fired a lot quicker than mine in stock form.
Do you need to remove the Exup Servo? I noticed under the bike it looks like the EXUP cables are tidied away in a tube under the swing arm. If you decided to return the system to stock would you also need to have the ECU reflashed a 2nd time to original setting?
@@SiegfriedsMotorwerx oh wow they do is that why they mostly make slip on for this ? That’s awesome thanks for quick reply also . How’s it doing so far ?
love the left pipe spitting some flame!!!
Same bike from 2009-2020 and it’s still the baddest power cruiser by far.
Genious sound from the vodoo, but i wish i could get this sound with soundvolume of the stockexhaust 😁👍
I agree. I love the way my stock exhaust looks, but wouldn't it be awesome just to have a dial on the pipes to be able to adjust sound and volume!
yeah that would be the dream
The stock just look so much better then all the aftermarket one's

love the Harbor Freight lifts... I been using one for overe 15 years... works like a cgarm.... cool vid... love the VooDoo pipes...
Are the headpipes also stock ? I mean that sound and flames are looking like it has straight pipes. Or does the US version have less restricted flow ?
The head pipes are 100 stock, this system deletes the cat and swaps the slip ons
Hey any ideas on why one cylinder is backfiring on my 2001 vmax..Pee shot the needles and still doing it..
Your idle mixture circuit it probably clogged an needs disassembly / cleaning
@@joshuapotts7634 Hey thanks. I'll Google the hell out that. Unless u have a knowledge and time tell me how sometime

Thanks!
I well like to do that to my Vmax the same set-up your location is in Pennsylvania
It is, we are in central PA
loud pipes save lives
amen brother.

dude I seen you the other night on that thing. that bike is badass , sounded awesome.
I always try to give you a little concert when I ride past

Yes you would have to reflash the Ecu and the exup I left on the bike just disconnected it
When do we get to hear the ride by!? Waiting
Sorry, we ended up taking a hiatus from TH-cam and in the meantime sold the bike. We never did get that ride by…sorry
Oh why did they kill the vmax in EU?
They are ending production everywhere
Yeah, I still prefer the OEM. I saved the money for insurance, gas, tires and time to ride. Unless you have lots of cash
Sounds tuff
Get a full exhaust. Slip on don’t usually affect fuel/air
Except when the slip on system deletes the cats. I’m sure that’s what you meant though
