- OK, so I might be a bit biased, but here are 8 totally objective reasons why the japanese spitz is such a nice dog. Perfect to watch if you are considering getting a japanese spitz puppy, or if you are just like the breed. What is your experience with the japanese spitz? Do you have other great things to mention?
I had a Japanese Spitz but she died months ago.... she was smart, affectionate and playful, she is just perfect for a companion. I really miss her so bad😭😭😭 we used to leave her alone in the house bcz we would go to the mall, then when we get back home, we wont even have time to spend with her, I regret not spending time with her that much, but I usually walk her out and feed her, and dress her when she goes out with us, I’m very happy we got her(actually my grandma gave her to us), she will always be in my heart forever🥺🥺🥰🥰

I have two of them.. They are full of energy, intelligence, cuteness and loyality. They can identify good and bad people easily. The best cute comedians for all the good people and best demons for bads. 😘♥️

Yeah I have one it's great for family as well as individuals. But the only problem is their hairs shed a lot and when u try to pet them their hair sticks on your clothes.

We had a Japanese Spitz and we named her Snowy. She lived to be 17 years of age before she passed away. It was heartbreaking when she was gone. She was loving, patient, communicative and even respectful. I miss her so!
I'm still crying,after 17 years of happiness,my heart is broken,he left on October 30!
They really are intelligent. I have a Japanese Spitz and she learned how to open the gate to our house without anyone teaching her; she figured it out by herself. I was shocked when she was able to follow me outside the gate! I thought the latch was something too complex for a dog to handle, but she proved me wrong. I proceeded to put another gate latch in a higher place because she continuously kept opening the lower one lol.

I have two Japanese Spitz and probably most amazing thing about them is how clean they keep themselves. They like to avoid the mud and normally if they do get dirty its very easy to brush it out.

Yes, it's one of the best dog breeds for the home and for the entire family. I own a Japanese Spitz myself. The best companion dog, very playful, funny, intelligent. I am basically a cat person, but this dog makes my heart melt. My whole attitude toward dogs has changed. The stains around the eyes come from the supermarket/premium dog food. If you feed them with the natural diet: turkey meat, cottage cheese, hard boiled eggs, some boiled rice/buckwheat/oatmeal flakes, zucchini, carrots, blackberries, boiled sea fish, vitamins, there are no stains. The white coat sheds dirt, basically you don't have to wash it, but we do wash/take him to the groomer (recommended) every 3-4 months. The coat has no smell, neither he is allergic. He does not care about the cats, only wants to make friends and play. Not so much vocal, but he knows how to bark )).

I have a Japanese Spitz mix with Jack Russell Terrier - his face and color is that of a JRT, but his body and coat is that of a Japanese Spitz. He is a ball of energy and quite a stubbornly intelligent dog. He sheds his fur during dry season (we only have wet and dry seasons), but I do agree that his coat is dirt repellant.

No! If your dog is a Japanese spitz it will not have been able to be mated to any kind of wolf. Is this something you think is a breed of dog?

@@tdk9518 Wolves and dogs are often mated to each other, particularly the spitz breeds. Why are you saying that a Japanese Spitz could not be part wolf?
Wolves can breed with any dog, but the offspring are usually not very tame, no matter what you do.
You can't breed dogs with foxes, but you can breed them with wolves and jackals.

@@judylloyd7901 I am not sure why Wolves should be mated to a domestic dog but have you actually ever seen a Japanese spitz and a wolf. The size disparity is enormous! And what would be the point exactly? Why would anyone want to de-domesticise a dog? So someone out there thought "hey we've got this nice little domestic dog lets cross breed it with a wild animal and create some lovely pets!"
Your dog looks exactly as my pet, Boo, with regards of the face only 😍😲 cuz he's half-Japanese Spitz and half-Labrador. He's not fully white and doesn't have thick fur.

All true but for "apart from twice a year, they don't shed that much". They shed a noticeable amount every single day, moreso when they shed their entire coat. But they're worth it.

hello, i have a 2-year-old japanese spitz but she grew up untrained and lonely. i decided to take over her now, is it still possible to train her? she doesn't even know that her name is pepper 😟 i tried training her to sit but she only does that when there are treats.
Of course she does. Treats are the way most people train their dogs to do obedience and tricks.
Make sure that the treats are small, and if you are rewarding her a lot, you might have to reduce her meal size so she doesn't get over-fed.
Make training sessions short and frequent, stopping before the dog has had enough.

I have Japanese spits and they all have different personalities for example my youngest one is always crazy and barking at EVERYTHING for no reason at all but the second oldest barked when she is pissed off but my oldest one only barks when he sees strangers or birds or when he hear weird sounds (knocking on doors cars and other people he doesn’t know) I hope it helped
I had dog she is putol and she is half japanese spitz and aspin (asong pinoy) her mom is japanese spitz and her dad is aspin she is 3 years old and she has 7 kids but sadly two of her kids where both died, and mostly her kids are born boys and her another puppy whose is female was dead and when think that we’re unlucky to get a female pups from her.
Her husband and their older son they’re not very close and sometimes it leads into a fight and trouble that annoys us and she very spoiled towars our late grandpa and to us right now, she was very trouble maker and also very sensitive when she was eating a meal and her kids or maybe her husband approach to her she will get mad and start attacking them, but anyway she is not really bad dog but she is also good girl sometimes.
