...at what point do you think they, not just bourgeois by any means, they may just start thinking about the ethics of importing exotic woods from India, Brazil, etc ...let's be honest here , it is a problem ?
Indian rosewood as I understand it is generally purpose grown and not endangered though it is growing more scarce. Brazilian rosewood is illegal to import and I think they work off what has already been cut. That’s why most sets now don’t have straight grain because they are from smaller trees or stump wood. There are serious problems with other woods like Madagascar rosewood especially. But whatever is being used for guitars I think is a very small portion of what is smuggled and otherwise unethically used. It’s unreal that such precious wood is often used in large furniture for example.

@@bjornegan6421 deforestation , loss of forest canopy which causes a list of problems for the animals in a forest, soil erosion.
