I was always so upset that Hell Let Loose got bigger than this game
it just feels so clunky to me... PS gunplay is leagues better!
While I'd say the gunplay is more realistic in PS, it always felt like the more clunky of the two. HLL has a simpler more accessible gunplay that I think is easier for the average newb @@boogie5
I really like both but it's sad PS is dying 😢
I just know by fact that, asides from players that likes more casual gameplay, Post Scriptum is naturaly better than Hell Let Loose by a mile.

If you want to go back even further… Battlefield 1942 Forgotten Hope mod - we had organized campaigns with literal 12 hour battles
We need to wait for Squidbot zeus mod (or help with this mod) that might help to create PvE scenarios that can be enjoyed offline or in coop with smaller groups of friends. Squidbot already created bots mod for PS but it works only for 1 map and was created for test purpose.

yeah, AI is the only thing I see saving this game. the playerbase has just died. HLL won the competition. i've played some Arma 3 WW2 PVE and having bots in a game like this is defo possible, you just have to program to actually play tactically and not run and gun like CoD or Battlefield bots do.
I played offline scenarios for Squad that were created in zeus mode by community and it was awesome. Ideal for PS with lower player base. You cap points from the bots in coop mode.
I hate to break it to you - but Squidbots will never come to PS. Too much differentiation in the Spaghetti code. I can confirm this.

forgotten hope 2, developed since 2007 is still having a populated server (central european evenings and weekends).
i mention forgotten hope 2 because in context of ww2 tactical shooters it has been flying under the radar for such a long time and nowadays it seems indeed forgotten. but it has been there all those years and still is. and its influences to the genre are obvious.

I will look for that events , this game need to live. I never felt so immerse like those battle's here for Arnhem bridge.

my recording software FUCKED UP a bunch of clips for what ever reason.. i actually had to give Microsoft 99 cents for a Codec just to get them to work.. like a whole night of gamings clips i did not want to lose, so I paid it.. only to find out the clips were all like, over saturated and looked terrible.. that is as good as i could get it to look with the tools lol
Post Scriptum is in a league of its own. Maybe it was just too ahead in some ways or maybe even too old school for newer players, but it's definitely one of the most underrated WW2 games ever.

no, just maxed out everything except resolution scaling (I think it's called) I have set at 1.5x instead of the 2.0x max...

HLL is definitely one of my favorite games and PS is also one my of my favorite games as well. I just can’t choose which one is better though because of the state of both of the games. HLL development team consist of people who’ve never made a shooter game before and in PS it just seems more buggy than HLL. Dunno.
Those days are gone for Squad 44! there is FINALLY actual coders working on the game... in due time, it will be the FAR better game! HLL is pretty up close.. but at a distance, its gross lol
Squad 44's gunplay is GREAT where it counts! within DEEP engagements, were realistic engagements happened
700m in HLL the enemy is a pixel or two.. watch my sniper short from Squad 44, I hit a d00d at 700m and you can make out that he's nazi because he's running with his rifle in one hand!
Literally NIGHT AND DAY comparably.. not to mention SOUND, and the fact that every time I play HLL, it takes an hour just to find a squad THAT'S USING THEIR FRICKIN MICS!!! lol

thats because it has 1 active server and is always full not worth waiting 1 or 2 hours to get in.

I wouldn't say that the bad thing is the small base of players, but the community itself, they try to make something tactical that was not it, ruining the experience for everyone who comes to play and all because they are tactical, at a moment in history where that concept did not exist, but on a larger scale, it is even more so that being tactical is a strategy that is not used in a large-scale war. Look at Ukraine, massive loads, number of troops and firepower, not a fool ruining the experience of others for believing themselves to be swat
sure... I however would say there is quite a broad line between being communicative and "tactical"
Training server! Im there just as soon as I can make it this morning. I haven't had a proper ps match in some time now. Feels like I lost a good friend. I haven't been able to keep up with notifications lately partly cause I broke my phone and without that I have limited communication with the gaming world. My pc has a corrupted SSD issue as well. Let me know if you get a match going and I'll be there. Need to get the squad back together again.

it's honestly a 'shame' if we get good ww2 games, they all being throwed in at almost the same time and one/few of them really goe under while i prefered some things in ps over Hll. i myself have stayed on HLL the Maps just still felt so empty in PS, yet the sound design is unmatched where HLL still needs a lot of work..
its just the feel and gunplay for me...
Fluid movement, best gun play, realism, best sound effects and the closely knit community that communicates. Yes sirr!! I love this game.

I love this game for the gunplay, but in my mind the best ww2 game ever would be one with post scriptum gunplay and hell let loose graphics/environment. PS feels kind of empty in many regards.
Ideally I'd want a combo of the two, I like the size of PS maps but they did feel a little empty or... boring somehow. HLL maps are so small tank engagements can only happen at like 400m max and at that range the environment won't load properly so you will never be able to actually hit a target without hitting an invisible object. Most frustrating thing in the world.
gfx are good in HLL... up close at least!
PS provides WAY MORE DEPTH but at the cost of pretty up close gfx
PS had its time. It lost its fight against HLL and lost the struggle on steam. The same to some extend is true for Beyond the Wire. People these days tend towards "simpler" shooters which a fast gameplay. Not many people left these days you can bear a game that doesn't give you action after 10 seconds of playing. I ugess its the Internet/Smartphone-desease that causes this.
It was nice. We have been there and enjoyed it...
HLL now it’s not better then PS, they still loosing many players. Devs changing this game to battlefield now, many new players don’t now how to play. I’m still play in PS it’s the best ww2 shooter 👌

@@bro3217 i played almost 1000h in this game and it’s not historical did you see panther or tiger 1 in Stalingrad or german soldiers using stg 44 in 1942.
Add body dragging, Squad-esque deviation/weapon sway and suppression and rework spawning so it's more like project reality and it would be a dream WW2 game for me

when T17 took over HLL, angry fans cried that they’ll switch to PS instead… look at the steamcharts… PS hovered and still hovers around 100 players a day.
Because truth to be told it was in the end Team17 who fixed some most annoying long term bugs and not Black Matter (the original HLL devs), grenade bug or loadout bug. And now they are adding subfactions so in the end all have seemed to be on a better track with Team17 comparing to what it was with BM. They are ofc doing some stupid stuff (the unecessary vaulting overhaul or in-game store page) but overall the game benefited from their changes so far.
However we will see what will happen next with HLL, as 30% of Team17 personnel has been laid off due to company cuts, and even the community manager WombatMedic (the only Team17 person that was actually communicating and trying to answer stuff) was one of the victims of it, then whole HLL QA department and a few HLL devs as well. So the future is much less certain than it has been a month or two ago.

I have launched PS today after a long time and flew around a bit... almost forgot how ugly the graphics, color pallete and environments are, comparing to HLL.
The only good thing in HLL is the graphics and environments, while everything else is bad. PS's only bad thing is the graphics/environments while it has all the best in-game mechanics. I just wish the 2 games were merged so we can have all the good stuff from both. I hoped that would happen in Resolve... damn shame it changed its direction away from WWII.
To me personally, the graphics and believability of environments is important as I want to enjoy what I see, and be able to compare the game to the actual real places. PS has been trying, but its graphics and environments are basically the reason I stopped playing it as soon as some better-looking game came out, and that happened to be HLL.

@@TheJimyyy When it comes to graphics, I have had it all on EPIC man. And environments quality is not about graphical settings but level design. While HLL's environments feel natural and alive, PS environments feel dead and generic.

I have 1400 hours in HLL and only 60 in PS. Mainly because HLL is FUN and chaotic and always has some level of teamwork. PS is just unorganized wandering thru bushes to be sniped by something I never saw, I know, Gitgud. I mention this because i WANTED to like PS so much more!!! It has the answers to all the things that are wrong with HLL and the grit and the realism and the Saving Private Ryan chest thumping terror of war! It just never succeeded at being fun for me, the average player... I truly hope for good things in the future for PS whatever they look like because it's more in line with the game i want to play. great gameplay footage btw this is nuts.

HLL is just another battlefield game with arcadey shooting. No one communicates as boogie says and its the same run, shoot, die, respawn because there is no proper squad leads. Install Post Scriptum Realism mod and that's the most realistic WW2 shooter ever. Maybe Arma 3 with mods comes close.
@@fellington2398we must be playing different games because I’m on comms with my squad about 80% of the time. And it’s nothing like battlefield, HLL is way more hardcore, maybe not as hardcore as PS, but comparing it to BF is a massive stretch. It’s a very decent WW2 game which you’d love if PS was never an option.

the gunplay is CLEARLY better in Squad 44, I don't think thats up for debate.. however, people have their opinions about the overall gameplay of each.. I love and support both, but HLL is an arcade shooter comparably if you ask me
