Great question. Both pick off and pick apart are separable, and pick up is also separable for every definition I listed except for 'to improve or become busier'.
Thank you teacher. I realy like and enjoy this lesson .finally I finde a great way to learn frasal verbs . So now I can make a sentence with a frasal verb pick . 'During I watch this video ,I pick up several meaning of phrasal verb pick. Thanks .
Well done! I would slightly modify your sentence to look like this: While watching this video, I picked up several different meanings of the phrasal verb pick.
I really enjoy watching videos with phrasal verbs examples and explanations, especially I feel like listening to the Canadian English accent, it is so clear and comprehensible...by the way what about "picking up" girls ..?
Thanks Andrew! What does it mean: "He always tries to pick up girls in bars" And this:"When is the weather going to pick up?"Is there some other meaning?
Hi Olegman Po. Great questions. To 'pick up a girl in a bar' is a slang way to say to meet a girl in a bar with the intention of going somewhere else together with her. In your second sentence, if we're all waiting for the weather to 'pick up', then we're waiting for it to improve as we had anticipated. Think about a summer that is not warm or sunny but full of grey clouds. Everyone is waiting for the weather to finally pick up.
Both could be acceptable. Because French and English are both official languages here in Canada, both often get used. In the US, however, check would likely be the more common spelling.
Something happened to me , cause i didn’t know the diferents meaning of the verb pick . I thoght that it was only choose or take. A man in a hospital ( in a wheel chair) , told me : can you pick me up to my vam.?. I didn’t understand because i understood that he wanted to choose a vam. It was very ashamed after to know that he wanted help to go up to his car…, too late for me… still i’m so sorry because i didn’t help him. I’m a donkey
Haha, no problem. Learning English or any language is a long process. Phrasal verbs, especially, can be very difficult. Keep learning and don't give up!

Which of these expressions are separable? Pick apart, for instance...?
Great question. Both pick off and pick apart are separable, and pick up is also separable for every definition I listed except for 'to improve or become busier'.

Thanks for the comment, Oliver D. Yes to 'pick up' a girl would mean to meet a girl somewhere with the intention of dating her. Good one.
🤚
This is so rude
good job mate .)
Cheers, mate.
Thank you for these great lessons sir. Can we use these pharasal verbs in any English speaking country?
I would have to think that most of them would be used throughout any English-speaking country, although there will certainly be exceptions.
Maple Leaf ESL thanks for your reply.

Hello , thank you very much, may you please tell about "duck on" phrasal verb?
To the best of my knowledge, 'duck on' is not a phrasal verb. Duck out is one though, and it means to go out or leave.
Pick apart is like pick holes in,like find faults in.
Pull apart, is similar?
Correct about pick apart. Pull apart is a little different though. See my PV lesson on pull.
Nice hair or beard cutting
Hi Teacher: just wondering if there is a typo in the word “burgular” (instead of burglar)?
Indeed that is a typo. Correct spelling is burglar as you say.
Hello, greetings from Greece ! Is there the phrase when phone is ranging : Please, pick the phone up ? i heard it in a movie

Great sentence.
We haven't see exactly the lesson
You have to write a Book !!
Not a bad idea :-)
Andrew is really HOT!!!
Are you gay!
Is it check or cheque?
Both could be acceptable. Because French and English are both official languages here in Canada, both often get used. In the US, however, check would likely be the more common spelling.
😘😘😘
excuse me, i just want to know that "pick up" is meant target individual to change a group, isn't it
I'm not sure what you mean exactly. But my instinct is to say not it's not.
