    Thanks Andrew. It seems to me you stress second syllable in the word 'employee'? Is it right? My dictionary thinks that it have to be third syllable?

    • @mapleleafesl6162
      @mapleleafesl6162  7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Hi Olegman, yes, you are correct. The stress is on the third syllable. However, in British English, it is on the second. Therefore, both pronunciations are considered correct.

    Can i say to my friends, while in a party not having too much fun, lets push off?

    • @mapleleafesl6162
      @mapleleafesl6162  5 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes, you could. But it would certainly not be the most common way to say it. I might say 'let's take off' or 'let's get out of here' or 'let's bounce' more commonly.

    Thank you for this lesson about phrasal verbs. Could you please tell me the meaning of 'push past' and 'push away'?

    • @mapleleafesl6162
      @mapleleafesl6162  7 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Hi Omar, thanks for the questions. To 'push past' someone means to walk or move by someone in a forceful way. It is usually considered to be a rude thing. Imagine someone rudely hurrying past you in a train station and maybe even bumping into you. To 'push (someone) away' could mean to either physically push someone's body away from you, or it could mean to push someone away emotionally. In this case, if I were to continually ignore someone or say insensitive things to them, I would effectively be causing them to distance themselves from me because of my poor communication skills. For instance: "You've been pushing me away for months with your lack of communication. You need to pay more attention to me so we can repair our relationship." Hope this helps!

    Phrasal verbs sounds easy but are difficult to use them..with variety of examples we would know to use them
    After getting to know your video i only crave your videos for phrasal verb specially..reason is many examples you put
