Smoking and tight- excellent Bowie. Love how Trey doesn't look at his guitar for the entire jam, just staring off in a trance of musical connection while listening and reacting to what the other guys are playing.

Thank you Phish! This Bowie is on fire. The Sand teases in the final breakdown?!? So slick.

Wow every show this year kept getting tighter and tighter.

They came together collectively throughout the song, but I thought the intro was a little off in terms of their timing and seemed a little stiff. Like I said they def got it together but this is def one of their more challenging tunes to pull off super tight, at least in my opinion. They always play really good though in Toronto, and Canada in general.

Am I the only one who thinks that Jon Fishman sometimes resembles Russell Crowe?

    What's Trey looking up at?

Fairly straightforward Bowie, a tune that has mostly lost its former glory. They are tight, but lacking intensity/fury. Then again, I think they are generally not reaching their past levels of intensity/fury. That said, I think the creativity and improvisation has been really great this year!

    lol was phish ever "cool"?

    • @jasonwfox2509

No. And that's a good thing. "Cool" things get used to sell useless or unethical commodities. The original intent behind the music, consequently, gets defanged and made utterly banal. Look at punk. Numerous products capitalize on punk's association with youth culture to sell their bullshit. Phish, particularly the band's early material, is too weird to be associated with cool items like unlimited data and items made by sweatshop laborers. Again, this is a good thing.
