I feel that way about the horror aspect, maybe I'm out of touch or missing something but there's nothing scary/immersive scary about Minecraft to me, it's like being scared of Lego. I mean a jumpscare is a jumpscare, and the map is impressive technically... but still.
I don't get why the emergency exits never work in horror games... like... that's illegal you know? You cannot legally lock that thing. ever. Just don't have a doorknob or whatever on the other side. but it should remain unlocked.
It's like all the times ghosts shout at people to "GET OUT!" in movies but then all the doors and windows are locked, like, how we gonna do that m8? You locked the exit-
For the jail ending, all I got is my theory. My theory is that we didn't jump, thus the police thinks of us as a normal person, and when they found the janitor's body, the police made Thomas the prime suspect and was charged with the murder of the janitor. But for the mental hospital ending, Thomas had shown suicidal intentions, and the charge of murder was dropped because of insanity. I mean there were cases of people who claimed they are insane or suffering from mental illnesses and was given a light punishment by court. So it could be that.
my theory is that our character is schizophrenic and is having hallucinations about someone or something following and stalking him all the time which could explain the pills, sleepless nights, the basement monster and the nightmare in the beginning plus the ending where he says "LEAVE ME ALONE !"
and also the fact he comes to work by walking and not by car to "avoid" the basement monster, the fact no one seems to encounter that basement monster, the ghost that pushes him down the stairs that looks like him. It could be a daydream because in no circumstance 911 would respond to a call
at 36:01 you say you remember the janitor having blood instead of just X's on the eyes, its possible the minecraft map updated when you went back to the map, but I doubt it. But in the vid at 12:40 its 100% difrent. That said I wonder if the true story is that the character is unstable, and everyone else was the monster "following" him. They people in the office may have just been trying to wake him up, from psycosis. perhaps the reason it looks like we get pushed down by our boss, is because we do get pushed to prevent any further bloodshed. No matter the ending, everyone in the building is dead. its too LATE to save them. Atleast thats my theory.
this isn't really a criticism per se since i don't mind, but it's amusing to me that the scary monster sounds are just the sound of an elk bugling lol (most noticeable at 32:02, i think)

Librarian you should try out the original Silent Hill for the PSX, it has quite a few Liminal Spaces in it, I played through it on haloween and sh*t myself because of how scary it was!

The map looks crazy good visually and auditorily but I've got to say that the gameplay and story feels like they haven't really put much thought into it. The story itself is basically non-existent, there are just random "scary stuff" happening without any explanation. Also the section at the start feels very non-relevant to the map itself. It's almost like they wanted to make a map that is set in the older times but gave up on it mid development. The map also has that "jumpscare gmod map" feeling to it with how it relies on jumpscares to scare the player. As the librarian has said and demonstrated the map seems extremely easy to break. They probably designed this map to be more of a visual showcase than an actual horror map. Still though assuming this is a free map made by the players I have to say it is very good.
A librarian missed a blue book standing out as a sore thumb in the library before celling fall sequence. I think you should resign your title as a librarian and instead port over to the title of a janitor since your are paying more attention to toilets than libraries xD
Hey librarian you should try out Night In The Woods it's a pretty cool game with a good story that I think you would enjoy. You should also try some horror games made in a game called Dreams there are some good ones.
So the reason why he had "X"es on his eyes whil he was dead could be because you downloaded the censored version. There are 2 different version. one being censored and the other being uncensored.

I don't think that was French on the radio after the player character wakes up in modern times in the beginning. I think it is Russian or any Slavic language. But not good at other languages outside of American English and a bit UK English and a bit American Sign Languages so it could be French for all I know but it sounds very much Russian or another Slavic language.
