Reckon Paul was lined up and the club said just wait and keep it quiet because we want to get an extra £5-10 million off ManU as they think we don't have a replacement lined up.

I know it's a fantasy game but his stats on FM23 are epic. Compared to Ashworth and Friedman, knows more countries. Signed arguably more players who have become "big" names. Has worked at more "big" clubs. What a coup. What an upgrade. Absolutely loving the way our owners do business. No leaks. No fuss. No messing around. Just BAM. Pure style. John Wick'esque unload (Ashworth), reload (Mitchell). Boom Boom Boom. Off we go!

@@everythingisblackandwhiteNUFC I feel like Dan Ashworth is the best in the business when he has full control over all sporting matters and can build an organisation from whatever base level they're at. We all thought that's what he'd get at Newcastle and TBH initially that was probably what the ownership envisaged. When Eddie Howe exceeded all expectation however the remit had to be slightly altered because you can't say to Eddie Howe "look you've done amazingly at the club and we know you like the final say on players coming in but we've brought this guy in now so unlucky I guess". If you're looking for a sporting director who can work with a variety of people, with a specific remit and with specific budgetary constraints then I think you'd be hard pressed to find anyone better than Paul Mitchell. Southampton, Tottenham, RB Leipzig and Monaco are all very different clubs, with very different remits and very different budgets and yet he has been a success within said remit at every one. Spurs fans might argue that point but that's more to do with Levy's remit than Mitchell's execution of it.
Ashworth is just a human desk tidy.

I said on another channels live chat when the news of Dan Ashworth dropping the wanting to go to Man U bombshell that my first choice to replace him was Paul Mitchell. I am a very happy man today. A fantastic appointment. He only left Monaco because he felt that the job he had been brought in to do was complete. Him saying yes to NUFC indicates he his 100% happy with his job remit and will hopefully see it through to it's conclusion. A statement appointment is right.

This seems like our best signing since the takeover. Has the potential to be a genuine game changer for us. Excited to see how this plays out. He appears to be a roladex of pure inside knowledge of world football. Lets get them hidden gems, rough diamonds, overlooked, and underappreciated players of real quality to the toon double quick.
Your forgetting - Paul Mitchell was Manchester Unites 1st choice, not Ashworth, Paul Mitchell turned them down, Ashworth aint close to Paul Mitchell
😂😂😂 have you listened to yourself. Funny Newcastle didn't go for Mitchell when they went for Ashworth. Trying to make yourself feel better. Be honest Mitchell wasnt your 1st choice albeit hes good. Like your man says in the video.......there's nobody better than Ashworth.
12 weeks would be the maximum amount of time to heal from a broken metatarsal, so let's hope with youth on his side Miley can come back substantially sooner than that. If he has a bit of luck it could be more like September.
If Paul Mitchell doesn't turn down Man Utd, the whole Ashworth saga doesn't even happen. It's that simple.
