About 50 Year ago, this song ended a radio show that we,then in our very early 20 loved. It was a song of hope... Now in my healthy 70's but after 49 years as a Pilot I find life dull. But then perhaps when in the Lord's good time I depart....A new life awaits me...Joy is waiting for me.....
Love him. He is great. I saw him, Fabian and Bobby Rydell the December before Bobby Rydell passed away. The show was great but what I remember most was that Bobby Rydell had difficulty walking and sat most of the time while singing, however Frankie took care that Bobby would not fall and showed such kindness with him. He really treated Bobby with such kindness.
I never realised how old this song was . . . coming up to a century (someone will tell me if I'm wrong!). The Lou Christie arrangement is by far my favourite . . . pure magic, not least the fade in and fade out - a bit like life I guess. Definitely one for my own sign off day . . .
I love seeing that this Pittsburgh Farm Boy made it sooo big. His stroke of good luck meeting up with "Twyla" in the local Church basement, by answering a little ad in the local paper brought Lou to meet Twyla and they decided they would write music 🎵🎶 together, and the rest is history 😎🎶🎵❤️🎤❤

I have loved this song since the 70's, but I don't have the vocal range to sing it.
