My Uncle Arthur loved this song, he asked me to get him the single, late 70's ish I think. He was, to me then, just an old bloke, flat cap, very prim. I took the single round to his house, he put it on the turntable and cranked the volume up. He had an excellent hifi setup, Ditton 44 speakers, big Pioneer amp, Lenco TT etc. He sat & listened to it, big smile on his face, I realised there was a lot more to my Uncle Arthur, saw him in a new light.
Nearing my eighth decade, every time I hear "Chanson D'Amour," decades of dust fall away, and here in my heart, more and more, I feel my childhood again, so much is lost...
Esta música me hace recordar la radio 620 am que tiempos aquellos tan hermosos cuando mis hermanos y yo estábamos solteros en la casa de mis queridos padres
There was a joke about this song in several countries. Somewhere in France in a front yard on a beautiful sunny day early in the morning an earthworm crawled out of the hole. In a good mood, he stretched, took a deep breath of fresh air and sang: "Chaaaaansooon d'amouuuur".. Suddenly a lawn mower came towards him: "Ratatatata...
@@Psycandy Apart from the title (which just means love song) and je t'adore (I adore you), I think you'll find the rest of the lyric is in English! [It's in the notes, but I know hardly anyone on TH-cam reads those!]
Everything was back then. Live is mostly always worse than a studio recording. If you want them live andrew walmsley’s video is. It is about the fourth or fifth in the search.

Always had a crush on Janis
She is a beautiful lady
Una de mis canciones favoritas. Buena versión de la original cantada por la gran Edith Piaf
Jamais Piaf n'a chanté ça
Nunca fue cantada por Edith, fue una cancion de 1958, cantada por un duo y en los años 70 fue grabada por Manhattan Transfer
Piaf hat dieses Lied nie gesungen! 😭
He looks so cute in the sailor suit.
Le groupe vocal n"1 tous styles

What a great voice! She makes me believe I'm an American soldier in a French nightclub during WW2.
honey I could do that for you for two francs.
I always associate this song with the last season of "Are You Being Served."
Agree with most of you. But what about the sax? On a other planet!
Mr. Spooner's ticket out of Grace Brothers.
This one is for you Billy of Darwin. Riley Dodds Stokes Hill Power Station construction 1976. For you and for Johhny M. as well.
Who's the sailor boy

lol excellent
This song never fails to make me laugh. Hilarious 😂
it might be the year - 1978 - rather than the song, but i have to learn french first before i can verify that

@@Psycandy I'm nearly eighty now, and the 1976 "cover" is just that, a "cover" of a 1950s era pop hit. I know, because, you see. I was there.
I thought this song was sung by a French singer.
It's amazing that were an American singer. but It's a really good song.
Originally sung by Edith Piaf. Janis has used that little suggestion of French accent to make it wonderful.😊
💯
"Are You Being Served?" brought me here.
