Yes, awful overall. Also, I don’t know where you got the information that the new crankset uses the Protech axle. It says right on the product page that the SR Wireless cranks use the Ultra-Torque axle.

Campy and SRAM are so far behind Shimano in regards to electronics, just look at those monter mechs and batteries. Also they havent paid attention how the other brands have increased size of paddles due to consumer feedback. Good luck shifting correct gear in thick gloves, cold mornings or in a hetic race

I wanted one more top grade rim brake bike, so I ordered a V3Rs in October, 2021, frame size 58s. After 15 months, Colnago had not built the frame. My LBS found a C64 rim brake frame in Colnago’s US warehouse, size 60s. We had already decided that an EPS group set would be better than a mechanical Record or Super Record for a bike that would have internal cable routing. So 11 years after Campagnolo introduced EPS, I have version 4 of EPS on my C64. I have three other rim brake bikes with Record 12-speed. I’ve been riding the new bike since February 3, and have about 3000km so far. I have done one charge at just over 1000km. With close to 2000km since that charge, I have 40% battery charge remaining. The group set works, of course. But I don’t think it is any better than a mechanical gruppo for my riding.
Would I buy the new disc brake only SR Wireless? I think you can guess the answer.

@@colincampbell8311 at the start of the lockdown I ordered a C64 frame and separately the Bora WTO and SR EPS v4 and 18 months no frame, nothing. So I cancelled the frame and reluctantly bought a SWorks Aethos and stuck on the Italian parts… well, love it! The only bad part is… occasional clunky shifting and once in a few months the shifter locks and no shifts for like 1 minute but otherwise…. All ok. Love the brakes and levers. Works and gorgeous looks. But the new SR EPS… meh…

I’m a hardcore Campy fanboy. But this groupset genuinely feels like Campagnolo has just run out of ideas. Nothing on this makes sense. Why lose the thumb shifter on an electronic groupset? Why introduce yet another different BCD diameter and make your own 12sp groupset generations not cross compatible? Why introduce a 10tooth cog - that just seems like a desperate move to justify using the N3W freehub on the road groupsets. Why bother equipping each derailleur with its own battery when they’re not interchangeable? Why make this groupset so obscenely expensive? Honestly. I’m using Campag since the 9sp days even though I’m not that old. But this one I don’t get. No point in bothering with this. I hope they get their shit together next time round. Otherwise Campag will just become completely irrelevant.

The totally logical step for me would have been to introduce Super Record EPS 2x13, including a 1X option. Make Ekar cassettes and SR cross compatible and give people the option of a mullet setup if they want. Win Win for everyone. Of course no one needs 2x13. But then again who needs 2x12?

Very confusing. I’ve been riding Campy since 2003. Have disc super record EPS now. This seems like a downgrade in almost all respects. Bulkier derailleurs. Ditched the quintessential Campy thumb shifting. Aesthetically IMO it’s just less attractive looking. Crazy price points and launches without a power meter which should be standard at this level. I have been using Chorus 10SP since 2007. If I would have to make a decision today I would go Chorus 12SP Disc. No reason to pay for new technology especially in loosing iconic thumb button. As for the wheels In 2018 I replaced my Eurus for Bora Ultra 35mm. Very pricy decision for poor increase performance. Today I would go Shamal Disc. Of course if you want to show of your wallet capacity you buy high end products, but expect to bee laugh at in terms of performance capacity. Show off as a price to pay........ In the bicycle words, you always be better off by keeping your money in the wallet versus loosing wait. As an example losing 10 pounds on the body versus spending 10,000$ more on the bike will be giving more performance, more pleasure and more proudness…. Have a great ride.

Does the new electronic shifters from campag do the old school slam jump shift? Example. Largest rear cog / slam to small maybe going down a hill. Or a shimano one step shifting and no slam dump. Or going up a hill.

Awesome! The grupo of choice for cycling puristas has caught up. That said, €5200 price tag will likely limit who buys it. Once wireless shifting makes it to Record (in 1-2 yrs?), the initial kinks may be gone, and price should be more affordable. Something to consider for my next bike.....

Unfortunately that RD is quite a lump and IMO the jury is still out on the vertical shifters’ usability of which was not really mentioned in this video. I’ll stick with my SR EPS thumb shifters. And if you’re looking for a lower tiered wireless then nothing can beat the Di2 in 105 or Ultegra.

For something so ridiculously overpriced, that from all accounts doesn’t even shift well, doesn’t really look that great in comparison to its peers, I assume it will only be the reality denying, cost is no object fanboys buying this overpriced piece of dog 💩

It's sort of ridiculous that the derailleurs don't use the same battery (SRAM holds the patent for that), but it looks like Campy's front derailleur won't have the same clearance issues that AXS front derailleurs have. On gravel bikes, certain tire sizes will actually contact the SRAM battery.
