Wow. This reminds me of the time I had deep fried oreos with my Grandma at a fair out in the middle of nowhere. You see my mother had sent us away to live with Grandmother for the summer while she was studying to get her associates degree in excel and Grammy had a habit of taking us out to make the days go by faster. Boy did we need it cause cousin Jebediah also lived with Gramgram (not for the summer, his stay was permanent. Aunt Rhonda wasn't right in the head ever since she huffed some bad paint) and he was a terror let me tell you. Jumping up and down on the couches, would refuse to eat his cassesrole with a fork on account of being afaid of pointy things. I think it had somthing to do with his father but we never found out what the true fact of the matter was. So on one of our country escapades Gran took us a few towns over becasue she had seen an advertisement for what was supposed to be a fair but what ended up being a flea market and a few guys trying to sell underpants made out of hemp. I was partial to the rough and tumble feeling of hemp between my thighs but Meemaw always said that a good Christian boy wears cotton, and dang it (pardon my language) I wasn't gonna be the one to upset Mumma. After she had rejected my request for hempen shorts I was dejected, rejection begets dejection they say, but somthing came to my ear, a familiar tune. You know the one! Listening to your piano solo really opened my ears to the beauty of music and that's why Billy Jean was my favorite Beetle, even though the Monkies came in a few years later and did everything the Beetles did but better. Oh to be young again.
