No matter how you do it It's freaking hard. I just replaced a few rotten boards with rusted and hidden screws and I was beat when I finished. Pretty much did what this guy did, but had to be careful not to damage the good ones. Next time I'll burn it down.
For a deck like i charge from $1500-2000, it required a team of two, the right tools to do it, a gorila cart, a 18 cubic yards capacity dump truck and estimate labor 3-4 hours!
Thanks, searching the internet to problem solve removing boards with screws that are both hidden and no longer work this seems like the best idea so far.
Would I be able to install trex on the existing frame? Obviously removing the old screws? Also am I gonna have to use a drill driver to remove my old boards or pry them out? Thanks and sorry for the questions.

Wouldn't a salzaw be easier?
We are all a bit dumber now
Check out the Demo-Dek by GreenTek Tools. All those boards would have been off in an hour.
This guy is not normal.

I think I know how I'm not doing this.

nikob7 yes you should be able to as long as its in good shape obviously.
How many hours do you think you have sunk into that deck just removing the boards like that?
DJStuTV a total of 5. The deck is 20x30. It was tough. I thought it would unscrew but not 1 screw came out. This is all that worked for me.
I think I need a bigger bar! I was trying it with a standard 2 1/2 foot bar, didn't go too well!
WELCOME TO WES'S TOOTH PICK FACTORY
About 30 mins of cleanup for the small pieces.
How did you get the screws out?
I ended up hitting them with a hammer and they broke off. They were rusted and old. Mostly kicked them off with my boots.
Neil Mcintosh what are the chances of when laying the new boards down the new screws hits the old ones🥺
@@millermatic140 not once.
Wesley Bezuidenhout yea I ended up kicking some of them since they were rusty.
@@darkwing5805 For the harder ones I used a grinder. Made quick work.
