Hey I wanted to ask how many eggplants, zucchini, marrow squash, bell pepper, onions and tomatoes did you use for the last part where you have to put them on top of the mixture ??? Or just one ??
@@montserratvalenzuela8273 In my case, one of each sufficed, except for onions and tomatoes, that I had to use almost two of each one. Anyway, whatever is left over, you can use for some other purpose. BTW, I also used one potato and no pepper. Just made this a couple weeks ago and I have to say it’s one of the best things I’ve ever cooked. I love the added spiciness from the peppers. If you’re looking to cook this I suggest doing it in two days. One day make the sauce and while the sauce is simmering slice up all your veggies and layer them in order. Put everything in the fridge for the night, And then the next day put it all together and cook it. This way you are not spending half of your day on this recipe as it takes about four to five hours of work and cooking.
Did this at 7p at night I strongly recommend starting earlier. Did everything the exact same way the sauce is one of the most amazing things I’ve ever cooked. Thank you

Hi! this look delicious but as a French person from Provence (the part of France were ratatouille is from) I need to say that this is not ratatouille. This is a tian, another traditional Provençal dish made out of the same ingredients but made completely differently. A tian as you can see in the video is made of thin sliced vegetables that are well organized in a dish and cooked in the oven. Whereas a ratatouille is made of roughly diced vegetables, cooked for hours on a stove, and when it's done you're not actually able to distinguish any vegetables since it was cooked so long. Both are delicious (I personally prefer ratatouille), but taste different and are different dish.
This was amazing, it's really upsetting watching a recipe went a tomato sauce is needed and most just open a can, but you did everything and looks amazing, with a lot of flavor, thanks! Saludos desde Costa Rica.
This came out nice the first time I made it but it was super oily. I used about a quarter of the oil the second time around and it was even more lovely and delicious!
Thank you so much for such remarkable recipe !!!🙏🏻😉😋 The sauce is so delicious, and vegetables combination melts in your mouth and drives you crazy with flavor🌺🌸🙏🏻😍
Waaaiit! So in this recipe, they say to roast it for 130 minutes, plus add some time for preparation, so 30 minutes. That means that the judge had to wait for 160 minutes for his dish!!
So I made this--it is indeed a process! I was trying to use up a bunch of veggies from a CSA box, after getting the sauce made, I realized that none of my veggies are similarly sized, which made the layering a lot trickier, and a lot less attractive. Look for veggies that are the same width! I had tons of juice dripping out as it baked, even with the foil on; I recommend placing a cookie sheet on a rack underneath your dish to catch the liquid, otherwise the smoke alarm will be going off. Overall, I think this recipe is very tasty; a bit on the salty side if you follow the recipe. It has lots of herbal garden flavor, and nice caramelization from the long cooking time. Mine came out very saucy and juicy; I'm not sure if that's typical or not. Seems like it would be excellent with some nice crusty bread or maybe even couscous on the side.
I like this video because it is presented simply and it's clear to the viewer how to prepare all the vegetables. And also there isn't a presenter making comments throughout and hyping it up. The music suits and is relaxing. I would like to try, but the cooking time is too long! Also, it involves blending. Perhaps I'll look up the traditional recipe others have mentioned.
@John Lapuz Remy is the protagonist of Ratatouille. He is a blue-gray, average-sized rat who dreams of being a chef.....from google...it is REMY you uncultured swine.
How wonderful is this. So simple, but so delicious. Every bite, just brings out so many different flavours... it's just incredible. Coming home, on a cold and wet night, this will always make you smile.
Beginning of the video: roast bell pepper and cut tomato Me: oh ya. I can do that Midway: Mix gunpowder and dust of moon and mars with sugar. (Salt as per taste) Me: WTH Ending: Face the bowl 47.8495° east of sun and let the UV rays cook it. After 6 hours, Add crushed Stones and paper on which your son wrote an essay about *cooking is easy* and garnish it with some chilli from Bermuda island and serve lava hot Me: WTF I am not cooking anymore

Yeah😕
Gonna make this today with my mom :)
Bon appétit 😂😭.
I make it today to with my sister🌞💗.
Morocco🇲🇦💗,,
I like this video because it is presented simply and it's clear to the viewer how to prepare all the vegetables. And also there isn't a presenter making comments throughout and hyping it up.
The music suits and is relaxing.
I would like to try, but the cooking time is too long! Also, it involves blending. Perhaps I'll look up the traditional recipe others have mentioned.
IVE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS RECIPE FOR SO LONG! Thank you so much!
I can tell that Remy is sitting on your head.😏🐭
@John Lapuz Remy is the protagonist of Ratatouille. He is a blue-gray, average-sized rat who dreams of being a chef.....from google...it is REMY you uncultured swine.
@John Lapuz ok,grammar nazi
I love background music 😍
How wonderful is this. So simple, but so delicious. Every bite, just brings out so many different flavours... it's just incredible.
Coming home, on a cold and wet night, this will always make you smile.
The background music is kickass it's perfect
Ok but I need my assistant, Remy (the rat)

One day soon I’m going to muster the patience to make this dish.. I must .. looks amazing ..
The background music makes me feel like I'm inside a disney movie sitting in a French restaurant.
I'm going to make this just because it's beautiful to look at..
Some of the most beautiful dishes have the most simple flavours
Beginning of the video: roast bell pepper and cut tomato
Me: oh ya. I can do that
Midway: Mix gunpowder and dust of moon and mars with sugar. (Salt as per taste)
Me: WTH
Ending: Face the bowl 47.8495° east of sun and let the UV rays cook it. After 6 hours, Add crushed Stones and paper on which your son wrote an essay about *cooking is easy* and garnish it with some chilli from Bermuda island and serve lava hot
Me: WTF I am not cooking anymore
Practicly what HowToBasic is.
@@jaellanthehat3693 ya. Somewhat
Dam you are true dude!
I feel like people who claim that doesn’t know how to cook or that is so hard, are just stupid and lazy, literally all you need is know how to read 🤷🏻♀️
So funny you are
00:03 Is so satisfying
I made this today, it was very nice! I just added some extra chilli and served it with couscous and it was perfect
I have one more hour left . The sauce is super good definitely different . I’d recommend blending the sauce ingredients to save time from cutting but I did cut mines this time. I used everything to the T but I used agave instead of sugar still just sweet enough ! I can’t wait to eat ittttt I’m about to watch the movie lol so I can eat it at the end 🥰 I’ll be back to let y’all know how it taste . Ps I don’t think I ever have zucchini and eggplant before so if I like it then that mean it’s good good lol
how was it?
*all comments here are finding Remy, please help for the search.*

Recipe is excellent. Glad I followed this one. I cut down a lot of the cook time though and it still turned out great. Thanks.
