  • What is a Pardot campaign and how does it work?
Campaigns in Pardot aren't what you would typically think of when thinking of a marketing campaign but it understanding them unlocks the ability to autonomously and effectively measure ROI.

Thanks for explaining these campaigns ( can be confusing to understand). However, since Pardot tracks the "first touch", what campaigns should "Prospect Nurture" emails fall under? It seems like creating a Pardot campaign called "Emails" wouldn't make sense unless you are sending emails to people who haven't converted yet right? That problem is puzzling to me.

This is always a tricky question, as Pardot Campaigns are more of a way to measure where people came from, everyone that is falling into any type of nurture style of communication should already be related to a campaign so it is very unlikely that you will necessarily be generating any new prospects from these style of comms. However, as you must always select a campaign when creating assets (email templates, landing pages, custom redirects, etc), many of my customers attach them to Campaigns along the lines of "Re-engagement", "Nurture", "Churn" etc. However, if you are reaching the point where this deeper level of reporting is a focus and Pardot's campaigns are just not enough, it might be time to make the jump to Pardot and Salesforces connected campaigns function. This would be my recommendation and is always where I encourage customers to get to.

@@ImplementationGuru Ok awesome that makes sense. In the past we were just always confused as when to create a new campaign so that answers our question. We'll definitely keep following your helpful content. Thanks.

Hi I am new to Pardot .can you advise the sequence for videos ( there are 14 video series )

Apologise for the unstructured series of videos, there are a lot more on the way, I would suggest “Pardot campaigns” and “visitors and prospects” to understand the basics, then the technical setup playlist along with the connector videos to get started, but hang tight and I will be structuring things a little better with the new uploads!

    Hello "Implementation Guru" Team,
Team, I hope you can help me with this assignment, which I have not be able to close.
I did not find the needed information.
Scenario: When we try to load Leads into Pardot we observe that some records are not loaded. We reduce the size of the file and then only THEN all the Leads are loaded into Pardot.
My assignment is to understand which is the Leads limit within Pardo. NOTE: We have more than one system, including SalesForce Pardot and our customized systems, we are working on to automatic the processes as mush as possible. This is the main reason why for us is important to know records/leads -loading limits within Pardot.
Any Pardot' records limits, which you know about I would appreciate the information. So I will be able to pass the info to executives and close this case.
    For your support thanks,
    Iworx, a software integration developer

Iworx Iworx interesting problem. I am a little scared to ask how big these file sizes are. You may have issue with large lists in uploading your entire list to Pardot because, by default, it doesn’t allow you to upload role based emails. But if that is not the issue and it is just size, I have done uploads of 150,000+ records and never had a problem (keep in mind your prospect limit as well which is an expensive exercise to breach).
There are quite a number of things here that could be the cause so my best recommendation for you would be to reach out to the support team and log a ticket with them to look into the problem with you as after all sounds like you are dealing with a lot of potentially sensitive data

@@ImplementationGuru thank your for the response. if you dont mind, could you provide an example of what you meant with "to upload role based emails". I do believe the size of the file is less that 150.000. But for unknown reason we reduce the number of records and then it is loaded well, we do not change anything, but reduce rows/records quantity. Again I would appreciate if you could elaborate about "role based emails" Thanks!

“Info@“, “accounts@“, “team@“ etc when your upload finishes you should receive an email allowing you too see which prospects were not uploaded. But Pardot support can help you upload them so if this is the case, be sure to log a ticket
